We're thinking of taking our first trip to FW (in our travel trailer) mid-September. We're two empty-nesters...no kids, no pets, no cable TV. Can you help me determine which loops might be best for us?

Also, how far in advance should we make reservations...and is via the Disney web site the best way to reserve? Should I expect to get a AAA or AARP discount?

Thanks!

I would reserve now and then when a code pops up you can revise it.. this way you are sure that you have a site.
I think AAA discounts are out for that time. you can check just by phoning them and asking. I think the phone is the best way to make your reservations.
What is a AARP ?

AARP is American Assoc. for Retired Persons. (or something like that). :)

Yes, I would make the reservations now, then when a code comes out you can call and have it added to your reservation to get the discount!

I would go ahead and make my ressie now. DW has a 5-day before arrival cancellation policy so if your plans change, you have time to cancel and start over. Also, I have just changed my ressie for this week about 3 times in the last two weeks. So if you are not exactly sure what your dates are book before and beyond the dates you expect to use then you can modify later. Just verify the 5-day before arrival cancellation policy before you hang up and you shouldn't have any problems!

There is a FW map on this site : http://fly.hiwaay.net/~jlspence/faq_fw.htm that may help you determine which loops may be best for you. Some loops are closer to the marina, some closer to the Meadows trading post. We don't need cable TV access, and have camped in loops 800 and 900.
