Help - no availability for October 2010??

Hi all -- we're at the Fort now (1423) and headed out to trick or treat. . . . called Reservations today to book for next year and there is no availability? Anybody have any suggestions or has anybody else booked in the past when others cancel? I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions . . . or does anybody have a group that would like two more campers (ours and my folks)? Thanks and Happy Halloween!

When are you trying to book next year. I tried on line several times for next Thanksgiving. First it was only cabins that had room, then a few days later it was cabins and tent/pop-up sites, then last Wednesday the Premium sites came up. Instead of waiting on the preferred sites, which we usually get I went ahead a booked. We have never been to FW at Thanksgiving and since we were going to be there all week I just went ahead and spent the extra money on a larger site. My sugguestion is that unless you were trying for January or February, keep trying. I booked several months ago for March and got all my dates. Sometimes it's tricky (no Halloween pun intended). I don't know how long a stay you asked about, but if it is a week or less that may be the problem. Try booking a week longer than you want. That often opens up a bunch of sites in the system. Then you can call back and reduce it to the actual number of nights you want.

We started making ressies for 15Oct thru 1 Dec back in early Sept and initially all we got was 15 Oct to 5 Nov for a preferred site and then around the middle of Sept we got 15 Nov to 1 Dec in a premimum site and we're still trying to fill in the 5 to 15 Nov slot. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed that at some point we can change all of them to a full hook up for the entire time.

I was looking to book 10/22/10-11/1/10 and there was no site availability . . . so thanks to advice from folks on here and a DISer that I met trick or treating last night I booked today for a longer time period including my dates! Can't wait for Halloween 2010 at the Fort!

What dates did you get to be able to make the reservations? I am in the same boat here. And I have tried longer days than what I actually need just so I can get ressies for next Halloween.

I just did some searching and it appears that the night of the 30th is the culprit right now. I can get the week up to Halloween, but if you include the 30th, nothing.

I can start a reservation on the 31st and stay the whole next week, but if you add the 30th in there anywhere, NADA!!

NMK Thank you! I got my dates for Halloween 2010 and is very excited!!! Maybe next year if the DISBoard group does a gathering again I can meet everyone, my daughter LucyLuv (facebook friends - Ashley) was with us we forgot to print out our disboard sign to post on our site this past Halloween, we will remeber from now on to do this.
