Help needed!!

Help - I've been doing so well for the last couple of weeks and now disaster. Because it's my sons birthday next week my family are coming over at the weekend for a special celebration and there will be so much food and drink (of unhealthy varieties). I know it's going to be so hard to stay focused and resist but I must. Please send pixie dust and support urgently!!!

Here's a big {HUG} for a successful weekend.
I've been tempted with about 6 Huge food occassions since the end of April and I still have a rehersal dinner, a wedding and an 80th birthday dinner party to get through so far in June.
I bring along my Atkins Bars and Carbolite Bars in my purse, if I get desperate and there is nothing for me to eat I have one of those. When people ask, I call them my "special" treats, (and if they persist on knowing more). I explain I'm not eating sugar.
This has worked for me since there was a time at DS's Confirmation (the last weekend in March) that I had several pieces of his cake. I had just started Atkins, so I chaulked it up to experience and went on from there.

Sue, it really helps to mentally prepare, and to get a game plan, for these types of things. You are already thinking about it and that is excellent! I know you can get through it, and do so with your head held high! So, figure it out. Should you eat something healthy before the guests come so you are not so tempted by the goodies? Should you prepare some food items that you like too, and that you can reach for during the party? Do you want to plan for and CHOOSE to have a treat that day? You can decide and you can do it! You can be in control of this situation and make good choices for YOU!

Good Luck...but even if things don't go as planned remember you can always start again the next day.....
 

ZW is right...even if YOU DECIDE to stray off of you plan....you can always decide to get right back on track. Don't stress yourself out...just come up with a good plan of attack...and work on sticking to that. I find that if I go at it with "a plan"...than I am less likely to completley "BLOW IT".
