Hi all - was invited to a last minute get together tonight and would like to bring an appetizer, any suggestions? Thanks!

check out kraftfoods.com as well..............i just made some yummy mini new potato bites for a get together today.

One large block cream cheese
One packet Hidden Valley (dry) dressing mix
One cup (can add more if desired) shredded cheddar cheese

mix cream cheese and dry dressing mix... add cheddar cheese and form into a ball. Refrigerate for a couple of hours and serve with any type of cracker.

Can double everything to make larger ball!

Sausage Bombs

1 8 ounce brick of cream cheese
1 pound of Bob Evans Sausage (any variety)
4 cans of biscuits (the little ones that come 4 cans to a pack)

Brown sausage, mix in softened cream cheese, flatten biscuits into circles and drop a tablespoon of mixture onto biscuit. Fold corners up and make into a little ball. Put seam side down in muffin tin and bake according to package directions. 8-10 minutes.

This recipe makes all 40 biscuits depending on how much filling you use. They are so good! We make them all the time and they reheat well in the microwave for a quick breakfast. We also make them, and a batch of sausage gravy to go over them sometimes, too. It can be an appetizer or a complete meal if you want!

Hope you make them and if you do let me know how you liked them. We had them last week at a Halloween party at our house and they were the first thing gone!

Easy and always yummy - I get asked for the recipe:

Brown some ground beef (1/2 pound for a small batch or 1 pound for large gathering)
Drain grease
add in taco seasoning and some water
simmer for a bit
add in some salsa
add in some cream cheese (1 block for large batch)
add in some cheddar cheese
add in some sour cream

I always bring it in a mini crockpot/warmer and bring some tortilla chips.

8 ounce block of cream cheese
salsa

Put cream cheese on serving dish and pour salsa over top and serve with your favorite crackers/chips/ bagel bites.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Always a hit when I take it to a party.

1 block cream cheese
1 package of precooked chicken strips
wing sauce of your choice
blue cheese

Spread cream cheese across bottom of pan (I use a deep dish pie plate)
Next dice up chicken into small pieces and mix with wing sauce until all the chicken is well coated. (I always had a little extra to kick up the heat). Layer that mixture on top of the cream cheese. Next layer is your blue cheese crumbles. Bake until cheese is bubbly or if you are ina hurry you can microwave it for about 5-7 minutes. Serve with chips, crackers or celery sticks.

Familiar with Stonewall Kitchen jams?

1/2 jar of Stonewall Kitchen Garlic Onion Jam
1 thin Boboli pizza crust
container of crumbled feta chesse

Make like a pizza (not a ton of cheese though) and bake according to the temp/time on the pizza crust package. It is always a huge hit! I hate onions and even I love it!

Taco dip is always fun and lots of people like it. Bonus points for layering it pretty. We use a pizza pan and do a layer of refried beans, then guacamole, then lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and cheese. There could be meat or sour cream in there, all depends on what you like.

Any taco dip is good, everybody likes it. The layering only takes a little bit of time and a steady knife hand as you spread the saucy layers around, and leaves you with a much prettier presentation, if you think that would be cool for the party.

Pumpernickel bread and dill dip. Easy and tasty.

Hit your grocery store you can buy pumpernickel and tear it into small chunks and buy a ready made dill veggie dip (Marzetti's is good) or Ranch dip. If you really want to get fancy, buy a 2nd loaf of pumpernickel and dig out the middle to make a bread bowl and put your dip inside of it with the extra bread on the side.
