princess: Hi everyone! We are planning our second trip to WDW (going Nov 4-10). Well, 2nd trip for my daughter and I. DH is staying home this time and we are taking my parents (their very first time!!!), so I want everything to be as magical as possible.:wizard:

DD is 8 and so far we are doing the following:
1) Play n Dine at MGM (lunch)
2) Ohana breakfast w/ Lilo and Stitch
3) CRT dinner at MK (anyone have any thoughts on dinner at CRT? They didn't have any breakfast or lunch ressies left!)
4) Storybook lunch at Epcot

My parents will love going to the character meals w/ DD, but we'll have one more sit-down credit on our DDP and I'd like to go somewhere nice. We are staying at AKL...

Boma, Ohana, somewhere in DTD?? Any ideas?
:tinker:

the Brown Derby at MGM or Le Cellier in Canada would be my choices
if you want 'nice' -
Chef du France is great as well

I agree with the OP...Le Cellier is a great place. It is a very hard ADR to get these days though. Also, my mom loves the Grand Floridian Cafe. It is still "normal" food, but still a bit on the fancy side. :goodvibes We are trying Coral Reef for the first time this fall. The atmosphere sounds awesome and the menu looks good, too!

I would consider BOMA we stayed at akl last year and ate at Boma on our first night my DD than 7 loved trying the different foods. I have also heard WCC is a fun place to eat planning on trying it this summer when we return.

We are trying Coral Reef this year too, can't wait. However I would suggest Le Cellier also, or Ohana's, loved that last year. We tried Boma's 2 years ago, and we are part of the did not care for it at all crowd. I loved trying new foods, but didn't like this. My children left hungry, however there are quite a few that like it so you have to decide. I have heard good things about Kona Cafe, we also enjoy Cape may Cafe clambake. Good luck, let us know what you decided.

Try O'hana for dinner. Their food is delectible, but it comes out quick, so don't expect to be there long!

I might go for something a little mellow. LeCellier would be my first choice as others have said, but it's virtually impossible to get a reservation there these days.
Ohana gets great reviews on these boards and is very popular, but our family was disappointed. We all actually preferred the Kona Cafe for dinner at the Polynesian. It was a nice sit down meal.
Your parents would probably love the Boardwalk area -- so much to see and do and very relaxing.
Spoodles is an interesting restaurant there -- and the resorts there have a couple of nice places -- the Galley at Yacht Club resort and the Cape May Clam Bake at the Beach Club.
Wilderness Lodge is stunning -- we always make it a point to browse around there each trip. Your kids would love the atmosphere as well as your parents. Artist Point is a very nice restaurant there, although a little pricey. (I believe it takes two TS points from your plan.)
These menus might help.
Have fun whatever you choose!

:woohoo: Sounds like I won't be able to get a ressie for Le Cellier, but I'll try.

Thanks for all the details and opinions on all the restaurants. Makes my decision a lot easier!party:

We're doing character dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. We're pretty excited about that one!

We did Liberty Tree last time we went and loved it! We live near Williamsburg so it was a treat for my daughter to see a bit of Williamsburg at Disneyworld. Thought it was a great character meal!

Just got back on Sunday. We only did 3 days. We dined at LeCellier, SanAngel Inn, and Kona. Other than LeCellier, I recommend Kona. Next trip we're going to dine at Kona again. :thumbsup2

I was pleasantly surprised with Coral Reef. I had the steak and it was really good and quite large! DH had the blackened catfish and he liked it too, it was spicy though. The steak was really good though and I would definitely go back there for the steak!

Thanks everyone! :grouphug:

I cancelled our CRT dinner ressies after I read some reviews about the dinner "show". Since it's not really character-driven, I think we'll pass. I talked to DD8 about it and she's fine w/ skipping it. We are going to the BBB in the Castle and she's very excited about that! princess:

So that'll give us 2 more credits to try out some of the fabulous restaurants you all recommended!!

LeCellier definately. Wonderful food, nice atmosphere. My favorite Disney dining experience we eat there every time. My DW swoons just thinking about the Maple Creme Brulee.

Coral Reef is a winner with us too. A bit of advice.....ask for a table close to the aquarium windows and tell them that you are willing to wait for one. We were seated at a table right up against the glass. It was incredible! The food was excellent, the steak I had was second only to the one I'd had at LeCellier the night before.

Also consider the Whispering Canyon Cafe @ the WL. Not low-key by any stretch of the imagination. Quite the opposite. Loud, fun and irreverent. The kids will love it and so will the adults willing to let thier hair down and give into the fun. The food's prety good to. I highly reccommend the bottomless milkshakes.

Thanks! We wanted to check out WL anyway. We were going to book there, but I didn't really know much about it so we opted for AKL (which I am thrilled about!!). I think we will check out WCC - maybe the first night after check-in.

Thanks!

We are absolutely in love with the WL. Our trip in January was our first to WL. I fell in love with the place the previous year. We were staying at POR and had an ADR at WCC. As soon as we walked into that lobby my jaw dropped and I told my DW "We HAVE to stay at this place next time.

We stayed there Jan 1-6 2007 and are already booked there again Jan 1-7 2008. The CMs there are wonderful and the resort itself is breathtaking.

You will LOVE WL! As you can read by my sig., we stay at the Villas there every year! Wouldn't trade it at all! WCC is a fun and exciting atmosphere! Just be ready to let loose and have fun and just be a family!
