well, I tend to look for cheap things for stockings so

a highlighter shaped like a mouse
a star wars legos mini kit (he is a star wars fan)
bookmark
candy
a magazine (his are star ones or end of year recaps)
deck of cards

A few things my DH is getting in his stocking:
comic book
spiderman/goblin comic book mouse pad
(DH is an artist and has huge comic book collection since a child)
a pair of boxers
socks
lottery tickets
bookmark
and as always a travel size toothpaste to be used on our next disney trip.

DH is only getting Peanut M&M's (big bag) and a hand held Free Cell game. The game takes up a lot of room in the stocking.

Can of shaving cream
Motorcycle Magazine
Oral-B tooth brush heads
Willey Wonka Chocolate bar
PS2 game and a handful of reese's PB Cups


Wonder whats in mine...oh silly- I do my own...!

DVD (POTC which we are watching as I type)
gift certificate for car wash/detailing
page-a-day calandar
clamps (he is a woodworker and says you can never have too many clamps)
and something "fluffy" (DH is a pilot, and I found a "paperweight" made of crystal with his airplane etched in it)

I live with my 83 year old father and he is getting a lump of coal in his stocking. I found a really cute little tin that is labeled "lump of coal" (and really has a lump of coal inside) at the Gourmet Chef store at the Premium Outlets on Vineland.

My DH is a scout leader so he is getting a compass, hiking socks, and firestarters in his stocking.

He is also getting a deck of cards, tupperware (long story) and a corkscrew/bottle opener that looks like a Swiss army knife.

Wish I was able to fill Dh's stocking this year He's getting a couple of DVD's and a CD that I nought before he was out of work for a month.

I frequently buy stocking stuffers at the dollar store for everyone.

DH is a contractor and has all the tools he needs, and I bought him 3 single DVDs and 2 sets for his Christmas gifts, so his stocking is just going to be Reese's Peanut Butter trees and smarties.
Mine on the other hand is going to be a hand-held mattel basketball game (retro) and russel stover nut, chewy and crispy assortment. He ALWAYS forgets about my stocking so I fill it myself. I guess he figures Santa does it!
