Help! Need DJ Opinions

Who did everyone use and how were they? I have been talking with someone from The Pros and their prices are pretty reasonable but I haven't heard any reviews, good or bad. I'll most likely go with a DJ outside Disney since Disney wants to charge like $3000 because the wedding is in December. If you have any reviews or advice, good or bad, please share! TIA!!

If you use an outside DJ I believe there is a pretty steep fee. I can not recall exactly how much but I am not sure it would actually save you money by the time you used someone else.

We used DJ Scooter and he was great. I had heard wonderful reviews about him and contacted him personally to reserve our date. Then I requested him through Disney so that when Disney let him know of the request he was available because he already had us penciled in.

Wow, that's way better. Is your wedding on a holiday? It seems crazy to charge more than triple the price for a DJ. I know we only paid about $800.

I know! Doesn't that price sound nuts? Disney said they charge double for DJ's in December due to some agreement the DJ's have with their union. So I asked the lady from The Pros and she said they don't do that. It must just be a Disney thing. The problem is, I'm scared to just go and find an outside DJ because I know nothing about the different companies. I have no idea who is good and who is not. That's why I'm hoping to get some advice from all of you wonderful, insightful ladies

The fee for using an outside DJ is $950, and it's to cover lighting, staging etc.

Have you checked out the Central Florida section of the Knot boards? It's a good way to get recommendations for a wider variety of vendors.

Did anyone use Disney's DJ? Is it the same person, or do they have many? Do they contract out??

Disney contracts with local DJs. So if you find a local DJ you like, s/he may be one of the ones Disney would assign you, and you can request him/her (but not be guaranteed, as with so many things...)

We are using Complete Music http://www.cmusic.com/ and they are charging $500 plus the $900 obligatory Disney fee.. and it is still much much cheaper then the $3000 some odd they wanted to charge..

They seem nice, saw them at a Bridal show, I will let you know after Saturday how I far with them...

i am so angry with complete music, i too found then at a bridal show, they really did me wrong, hope you had better luck with them then i did!
