not a doggie smell but a disgusting smell.......not from her back end area.....but on her BACK....and I wash it with soap and water and then a while later she stinks again...she does not roll in anything .......she smells fishy.
any help

Are you sure it is her back?

My dog's droopy ears can get pretty rank....

nope not her ears......i know what that stinks like too...not her anal glands either

it could be allergies. I read that dogs coats produce more oils when they scratch a lot and it causes a "fishy" smell.
maybe do some research on dog allergies and see if she has any of the symptoms???

Maybe a yeast infection on the skin???

See a vet.

could be a medical reason

could be the food you're feeding

Did you change foods recently? What kind of soap are you using?

Nutmeg, our Golden, developed the same kind of smell. It was awful. Turned out she had cysts, which we could not see or feel, that had to be drained. Once we did that, she was no longer smelly.
