We have reservations for 2:30 at Chef Mickeys on September 1. It says that the monorail is closed at that time, how do i get 10 people over to the restaurant in a timely manner. This completely throws my plans and now I'm wondering if I should cancel that reservation (It was the only request of my 9 yr old son) or go with the crazy.

If you're at MK, you can walk there. Just go out the park entrance, hang a left and walk down the walkway toward the Contemporary. It's about a 10-minute walk.

where will you be coming from?

Walk from MK or take the bus or boat from anywhere else that you could take the monorail from - it might even be faster!

Where are you coming from? Most likely it would be easiest to take a bus to MK and walk as stated above. If coming from a park or DS take a bus to CR.

It's not that far? So if my reservation is at 2:30 what time would you leave the park.

It's not a very long walk, but I think when the monorail is down, they run a bus to the monorail resorts instead.

Just take the path by the bus loop. Exit MK and head to the left. The path goes right to the Contemporary Resort. It's about a 10 minute walk. Should walking not be an option for your party there should definitely be alternate transportation provided if the Monorail is down.

I would be exiting the front gates at 2pm. That should get you to check in around 2:20pm. If you have slow-pokes, you may want to add some time.

Don't go to the bus stops. Stay to the left of the bus stops.

I'm sure Robo will come on here with one of those beautiful maps.

Thanks I was kinda worried. I really didn't want to cancel that reservations seeing as this might be our last trip there for a long time.

It's a very nice and leisure walk- I would never take the monorail if coming from MK to Contemporary- the walk is much easier. Unless you have someone with mobility issues you are more than fine.

Any time I can rely on my own two feet to get between two places at Disney, I do. Walk from MK to CR, it's a 5-10 minute walk.

they said MK and I think they will walk it it is very nice walk

OP there is one road you have to cross they is a light ( or maybe just a cross walk) it is very safe walk but if you have little one you may want to hold there hands make sure they are with you.

Here you go

I would walk even if the monorail were running. By the time you walk over to the monorail station and wait for the next monorail, you could be at the Contemporary. Walking, assuming no major mobility issues, is way faster.
