My family will be arriving at WDW (FW cabins) on the morning of Oct. 31st. I know that this is usually the most crowded of the nights for MNSSHP, but we've never attended it and I was hoping to do so on this trip. I'm not sure if I should even mention it to my DD (age 6) and DS (age 2) or just find alternative plans for that night if the crowds are as bad as everyone is saying. For those of you who have attended on the 31st, are the crowds unbearable? Are there other Halloween alternatives?

I went Halloween night in 2002 and am doing so again this year.

It is the most crowded of all the MNSSHP parties but it's still great fun and very exciting!

Last year was the worst Hallween night by far because it also fell on a Friday night. That made a hugh difference, IMHO, but it will still be crowded this year too.

We knew it would be crowded so mostly focus on the Trick or Treating and riding HM and the parade and fireworks.

The Trick or Treat lines 'appear' long but go VERY fast.

Get your free photo done right at 7:00p or wait till the end of the night or skip it.

The parade is GREAT. Scoop out a parade spot at least 30 - 45 minutes early...the second parade is usually less crowded, but I didn't think it was last Hallween I went.

Some people report crazy lines for rides in some areas and NO lines for rides in other areas. I believe it just depends on where you hang out during the night.

If you go in knowing it's crowded and having a game plan, I think you'll have great fun. Your 2 year old will be free and your 6 year old will LOVE it, IMHO.

I think it 'appears' more crowded walking around than it really is...like I said some areas had no waits and some areas there were waits.

On the other hand, if you don't want to do MNSSHP, I believe DTD, the Boardwalk and most resorts...do something for Halloween night.

Enjoy your planning!:teeth:

that's a lot of money to spend on tickets to the party and then not go, and you need to get your tickets before they sell out as there are only so many tickets and that night is the most popular one. so you do need to decide one way or the other. we are going the 24th and the 26th and maybe the 22 haven't decided on that one yet though.

We went last year on the 31st and we were able to do everything we wanted to do! I thought it was going to be much worse with the crowds, but it wasn't bad at all!! You can get there by 5, do the rides you wanted to do, trick or treat, watch the parade, and leave a little early if the kids are tired. We had no problem with most ride waits and the shows were cute too. The trick or treat lines were long but move quickly. We had a blast! I would definately go on Halloween night again.
