Help - MK Barber Shop

Hi! My DW and DD have been nagging me to get a haircut on our upcoming trip to WDW. Does anyone know if the MK barber shop donates the cut hait to cancer victims? I have very long hair (I'm a American Revolutionary War tour guide) and if I'm going to get a haircut it would be nice to know that it was used for a wig for a cancer victim young or old. Thanks for you help.

Not sure but when I had my hair cut (twice ) we just ziploc bagged it and sent it away to a sight from a salon magizene

DD6 did this last year (14") and has been growing it out again. She wants to donate when she has enough. We call her the "hair farm".

It's a wonderful cause, DO IT!!!!

On the flip side of this coin - do you think the barbar shop would have anything cool to offer a bald 12 year old boy on his birthday? DS suffers from Alopecia Universalis (sp?), as well as Down Syndrome. He has NO facial or body hair, except partial eyebrows and very thin, sparse lashes. The barber shop sounds so fun - maybe a Mickey "tattoo" or something?

To all of you who donate - thank you! I know there are several organizations that use your hair to benefit both Alopecia and cancer victims. I doubt my son will ever benefit - I just can't see him tolerating a wig! And being a boy it's not as devastating as it would be for a little girl.

That is a great thing you want to do Deadhead. If they can't donate it for you, make sure you put it in a baggy so you can donate it when you get home...

LisaB, I am willing to bet they will draw a Mickey Mouse in the hair paint on your sons head! They would probably have a great time and probably go all out. I want to know what happens so be sure to post a picture when you get home!
