I am considering lending my knowledge of disney to those in my apartment complex. I want to make a flyer telling those in my complex that I can help them plan out a disney vacation (dining, resorts, transportation, Etc..) and give them knowledge about things the normal person doesn't know but we on the boards do. I am not looking to get a set amount payed to me for my services but tips would be good. How would you word out your flyer to put in peoples mail boxes? I also have been told by the complex office that I can put it in their newsletter. Thanks for all your help. :thumbsup2

I would be very careful. If you take any type of payment, you could be opening some legal doors. That's why TA's have to be licensed. Even a 'tip' could be construed as 'payment'.

Yeah, what goofy said.

Also, make sure that you state in your flyer that you are not affiliated with, or licensed by the Walt Disney Corperation in any way.

What you are doing sounds like good neighborly behavior, but whenever dealing with things like this. . .CYA.

What a great idea. I've been thinking about this too once I have more knowledge :) It's great that you have the support of the management of your apartment complex too!! Congrats!!! Hope all goes well.

As for wording the flyer, are you doing a full or half page?? Including pictures of your previous trips? I would just say something to appeal to the most members of your complex.

If families: "Schools almost out for the summer and you're looking for something exciting to do with the kids. How about Disney? What?!? You don't think you can afford it? Not only can I show you the tricks to helping you save money, but tips to help make your day go as smoothly as possible. Give me a call/send me an email and we can get started on your trip today!"

If mostly singles/adults without kids: "Looking for a romantic vacation full of thrill rides, a walk on the beach and dinner with the most famous Mouse ever? Yes it can all be done at Disney and I can help show you how! Take a minute to give me a call/send me an email and we can start on your trip today!"

Just generic: "Thinking about Disney but think it's just too much to take on alone? I've been five/ten/twenty/whatever times and can help you have one of your best vacations ever! Give me a quick call/drop a quick email to let me know when you're going and we can start working on your trip today!"

Hope that gives you a little bit of an idea. If you're using a full sheet, you could either break up the page into two or three sections-one to get people to book a vacation, one for families who are already planning on going and one for adults without kids going. You could include some rides/restraunts/soemthing like that specific to that group that they would enjoy.

Again, good luck. If I think of anything else I'll post back! :)

I didn't think of that. :guilty: I just thought it would be nice to share my knowledge of disney to others in my complex so they could have a good time in WDW. Guess i'll put it down as a free service and if I get a tip I get a tip. I don't work and was looking to do something fun during the day that would help others. I don't plan on booking anything for them just telling them the ins and outs of disney. :confused3

I have to say that one of my favorite things to do is to help my friends and family plan their WDW trips. I love sharing my knowledge with them. Have fun with it, just be careful how you do it.

It sounds like a great thing you are thinking of doing. Just remember that if people don't take your advice and have a bad trip, all they'll remember is ArielRae told us what to do and it didn't work!!

What if you have a presentation about little known things about Disney?
Then tell people you would like to give them personal tips about WDW based on their likes and dislkies.

Good idea, remember you cannot used any licensed characters, i.e. Mickey Mouse or Tinkerbell. Also you cannot use logo's on a flyer.

Have you considered going to a local travel agent to work for them as a Disney Specialist?

Whatever you do, have fun. I love helping people with their trips :)
