I am 99.999% sure that I am right, but every once in a while I'm wrong. ;)

I've been to WDW three times and I am firm in my belief that there is not a "bus schedule" for the buses (from resorts to parks, DTD, etc.) but my husband, who has only stayed on site once and we drove almost the whole time, insists that if there are buses, they run on a schedule that he says he saw posted near where they post the signs for each resort stop.

We nearly got in an all out fight about it b/c he just couldn't wrap his head around Disney just sending buses every 10-20 minutes depending on the crowd level, etc.

Sooooo, am I right? I have never seen a "schedule" at all, maybe he saw a sign saying something about buses coming in increments or whatever, but I've never heard of a timed schedule that they have.

Please tell me I'm right now so I don't have to eat crow. :lmao:

You are right. No schedules, posted or otherwise.;)

There is no set schedule once the busses start running. You can't plan on walking to the resort bus stop at 8:40 am with the idea of catching the '8:45 Bus to MK'. Generally, a bus to your destination will come along in 20 mins or less, even if one is pulling out just as you get there. There will be the occasional exception. Visit WDW often enough and you will have a 'horror story' about transportation to report to these boards, but in our 15 or so visits since 1999, mostly consisting of more than 7 days each, I can think of maybe 3 or 4 long waiting periods for a bus that come to mind, out of easily hundreds of such rides.

Shew! I knew it! He just made me doubt my Disney knowledge for a sec there. Maybe I shouldn't tell him I have confirmed it and just watch him look for a bus schedule while we are there in November...that might be kind of funny. :rolleyes1

I would just go in November, and then let him figure out the 'posted schedule'!! But, then again, I tend to have a very odd sense of humor!!! Silly guy....so completely wrong!!!

Well then I am odd too. Gone are the days where I will bother to argue with my dh about stuff like this. I far prefer to witness the look on his face when he realizes I just might have been correct;):rotfl:

You shouldn't tell him and just drop it for now because a few responses on a discussion board (that I know are right) doesn't confirm anything at all to him so all I would see is 6 more months of this.

Or maybe you could call Disney and get a "confirmed" answer from them. :rotfl2:

I do recall seeing a schedule of sorts inside the bus stops at the resorts. It tells you where they go and how often they are supposed to run. IE: every 20 minutes. They also told you when they would start running: IE: one hour before park opening. To me, and perhaps to your husband, that is a schedule.
I found this on the net after doing a search. http://www.wdwmagic.com/Transportation/Bus-Transportation.htm

Wow - was this non-issue really worth an argument?

:confused3

Mmmm, I have a tendency to over-exaggerate, but I figured most people would realize by the tone in my post that we didn't really argue over it, we just bicker...must be something about being together 20 years, it's like sport to us, and funny.

I think waiting until we get there will probably be my best bet. I may even suggest he find the schedule for me when we get there and then watch him squirm. :rolleyes2

Yes, I believe he must have seen something like this, but in his argument, he kept saying that anywhere you have buses, they have a schedule. He didn't seem to understand that Disney.is.different. ;)

We had been talking about taking the bus from AK to AKL and then we could go to DTD from there for the evening. Then I mentioned that we could maybe go check out AKL again and go in the gift shop this time and he said, "Sure! We can check the bus schedule and see when the next bus is coming for DTD and see if we have enough time"...

I just thought it was hilarious, but maybe I'm just a meanie. :lmao:

Really? At 20 years it becomes a Sport? That's what all this training is for!!:lmao:

Meh. I understood you OP. We bicker. Says nothing about our marriage or the love we have for one another. We just don't always agree. :)

If they are posting when they run and how often, I believe that is called a schedule. Granted they don't specifiy exact times IE: 9:15, but, if they say every 16-20 mins. (for example), that, by definition is a schedule.

Sure now you taking his side. Wait a minute I'm a "his". :rotfl:

Just making sure that he's never stayed at Shades of Green, right? Or maybe he's seen the SOG bus schedule posted at TTC?

Because SOG DOES have a schedule. The buses from SOG to TTC run every 20 min, starting at the top of the hour, and that schedule is adhered to, so every 10 min later you know there will be a bus at TTC. 8:00 SOG, 8:10 TTC; 8:20 SOG, 8:30 TTC; 8:40 SOG, 8:50 TTC; and you can literally set your watch by the comings and goings of their buses.

I have yet to see any 'schedule', of any kind, at a resort bus stop. I haven't seen them saying how often they run.
Here's the issue...let's just say, for the sake of argument (or bickering if you rather), that you get to a resort bus stop at, let's say, 9:10am. You are the only person there, and you see a sign that states the buses run every 20 mins..which is supposed to be the norm. Well...how the heck do you know when that 20 mins is starting??? Unless you saw the bus you wanted to be on, just pulling away, then you have absololutely no way of calculating when the next bus will be there. It could arrive in 3 mins, or in 22 mins. And for me, that's just not a 'schedule'.
I guess you could assume (not such a great idea) that if the buses start running, regularly, an hour prior to park opening, and the park opens at 9am that day, then you will find buses, at the bus stop, at 8, 2:20, 8:40 and 9...and so on. But, we all know that just isn't the case.

Well now, see, you seem to understand why we bicker about these things b/c I'm POSITIVE when he sees that there is no actual timed schedule, he will still find a way to say it's a schedule if they are posting how every many minutes. It's a good thing he doesn't read the DIS, I'll never tell him that anyone was actually on his side! Bwahahahaaaaa! :rotfl:

No, he's never been to Shades of Green...and I'll make sure he doesn't since they have a schedule! I wouldn't want him to be partially right! :p

As for training 20 years for it to be sport, yep, I guess after this long there just isn't anything worth REALLY getting upset about, so we tend to argue playfully, but we've always been this way...

word to the wise...it's contagious to the CHILDREN, so if you don't like argumentative children, watch out! :p
