Help me settle this...

Below, I'll post a photo of the sign at the GF bus stop. Doesn't even resemble a schedule, it simply states where the buses go and what to do for Epcot. There are similar signs at all the bus stops, but I would never consider any of them to be a "bus schedule" - that would indicate a precise time, like the one described for SOG.

In all our trips to WDW, we've never found anything we could count on for bus timing. We have had 40 minute waits after just missing a bus, and less than 5 minute waits. Last year, we saw a bus for the park we were heading to come through the bus stop and keep going! lol Luckily, there was an attendant at the stop; she called on her radio and there was another bus within 3-4 minutes.

OP, DH and I have been together for 31 years. We bicker constantly, so I get the "argument".;)

I have yet to see any 'schedule', of any kind, at a resort bus stop. I haven't seen them saying how often they run.
Here's the issue...let's just say, for the sake of argument (or bickering if you rather), that you get to a resort bus stop at, let's say, 9:10am. You are the only person there, and you see a sign that states the buses run every 20 mins..which is supposed to be the norm. Well...how the heck do you know when that 20 mins is starting??? Unless you saw the bus you wanted to be on, just pulling away, then you have absololutely no way of calculating when the next bus will be there. It could arrive in 3 mins, or in 22 mins. And for me, that's just not a 'schedule'.
I guess you could assume (not such a great idea) that if the buses start running, regularly, an hour prior to park opening, and the park opens at 9am that day, then you will find buses, at the bus stop, at 8, 2:20, 8:40 and 9...and so on. But, we all know that just isn't the case.

LOL, not bickering at all. What I recall is that there were signs with approx. times. Every 20 mins. or so. Your point of 20 mins. from when is totally valid, but, if memory serves (and I am getting old) they also stated that it was from park opening. So your times are also valid. In the interest in full disclosure ;) I have to admit I have not stayed in a resort since 2004 and I rarely took a bus when I did stay all those times. This is a memory from the few times I ventured on Disney Transport.

I haven't seen a sign with that 20 mins posted at the resorts that I've stayed at...BW, BC, S/D, WL, AKL, Pop, BLT and others. The reason being that the buses can arrive every 5 mins if it's really busy. They can even come one right after another. Or they can come every 10, 15, 20 or 25 mins. The buses start running at 6:30am...every morning, to the parks. But, we always try to make sure that people realize these buses run less frequently than regular park buses do. At least until about an hour prior to park opening. But, even that isn't always true...I have seen MK buses come every 10 mins between 6:45 and 8:00. So, it's all variable.

Now, if we head over to the TTC and check out the Lynx area...sure, you'll see a very nice schedule there. It would almost be nice if Disney could say they run buses on the 1/4 hr. But, we all know that isn't every going to happen.

From AKL......

And we wonder why guests get so confused!!! Most sites will tell you, including the Disney official site, that buses run an hour prior to park opening. So, why the heck does this sign say half an hour prior??? That's just ridiculous. And of course, we all know that buses start at 6:30.
Then again....at the risk of throwing myself under the proverbial bus...is this Disney's way of covering their transportation butt just in case they decide that they don't want to run early buses any more??? Then they can say that it was never an 'official' thing...and subject to change. You know..just like those character buses they used to have going to the various resorts!!!

Why not? Seems like after the original inquiry/question has been answered correctly for a dozen or so responses, the rest is just fluff.
Because it has no bearing on this discussion. If you feel it's fluff, then you don't have to respond.:confused3

I swear to you, I have seen signs with times on them and like I said, I have stayed at a resort in years. Things change over time. But, bottom line, this is silly to disagree about. I do have a great memory and like I said this was years ago. I will have to go back to my old Birnbaum guides like from 1992 and forward. Take care and have a great day.

Well sure...maybe back in the 'dark ages'....:lmao: Just kidding. But then again....a lot has changed since the 90's..even since '99 when I started going.
But, you're right..it doesn't really matter. The OP can just wait until she gets there, and her dh sees the way it is now.

LOL, yep, dark ages, right after the discovery of dirt!!! Yes, a lot has changed since 89 since I started going.

It must be something about our Central Mass. makeup that makes us like to belabor a point. ;) I am from outside of Worcester.

Oh, yes I am. Born in Worcester, grew up in Leicester (Cherry Valley). Yep, small world, but, I would not want to paint it. :)

Well, I'll be danged. Our former town manager was from Leicester...seems there is some terrific chocolate milk out that way. I always drove through Cherry Valley on my way out to UMass in my youth!!!
It is indeed a small world.

Just making sure that he's never stayed at Shades of Green, right? Or maybe he's seen the SOG bus schedule posted at TTC?

Because SOG DOES have a schedule. The buses from SOG to TTC run every 20 min, starting at the top of the hour, and that schedule is adhered to, so every 10 min later you know there will be a bus at TTC. 8:00 SOG, 8:10 TTC; 8:20 SOG, 8:30 TTC; 8:40 SOG, 8:50 TTC; and you can literally set your watch by the comings and goings of their buses.
That's the military for you.....

It's a blinker, a bubbler and a grinder(not sub or hero) and a frappe(not a shake). :) Who's Tim Murray?
