Hi (Meant to say Next Thursday as Sea World)

Our family is going to WDW with Make-A-Wish, we leave on Sunday. We are doing 3 days Disney 1 day Sea World and 1 day Universal. I have spent the last 3 weeks learning about WDW. We live in Oregon and have never been on a plane or out of the state. I am a planner and would like some sort of general itenerary to follow for Sea World. This is truly the trip of a lifetime for us. With his condition and our tight budget I highly doubt we will ever do this again. We all want to maximize every moment. He has clearance to ride all rides and loves thrill rides. He also LOVES animals especially dolphins. He is a mature 12 year old. We also have DD who is 3 years old, she obviously wont be doing thrill rides but she is a sweetie who will love any animals she can see. I have been to the SW website and I know he would like Kraken, Atlantis, Wild Artic and Shamu express. I think DD would like the Happy Harbor too. We will eat breakfast at the villa and bring waters/snacks to be more cost effective. I have read the food is expensive and think we can manage without anything fancy. All suggestions or potential iteneraries will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

I am no SW expert~I specialize in Disney World:rotfl: but...I have done a lot of research the last month and a half since we decided to go to SW a couple of days in Jan. before Disney.

I got two great books, you could check your library. I got mine from www.paperbackswap.com a great paperback trading program that is free to use. The first book is Beyond Disney The Unofficial Guide to Universal, SeaWorld, and the Best of Central Florida. I got the 2006 edition.
The other is The Other Orlando ~ What To Do When You've Done Disney and Universal.

Those books are pretty similar but they did help me get familiar with the SW park and shows and attractions. I studied the map online at seaworld.com so that helps also.

I also read a lot of old threads on SeaWorld and learned a lot by reading people's trip reports and stuff.

Just make sure to go to the rides first as they get really busy and feeding the dolphins, rays and sea lions sound really great but can get expensive.

Pick a couple of shows you want to see most as they say you can't see them all and tour the park in one day.

It seems like a pretty simple park~like a zoo but do the big rides first. I would get there at 8:30 before they open. (assuming they open at nine when you go)
Artic Express has a motion free theater also if anyone in your party doens't want to get jostled around and it can be faster also.

Hope this helps- SW doesn't seem near as complicated as WDW and there is just not as much info about touring it either:sad2:

I love Sea World. My best suggestion if the park is busy and even if its not is to get to the shows 30 minutes before showtime so you can get a great seat with a good view.

The Pets Ahoy show with dogs and cats and a stray rat or three and the Pig fills up fast and we get there even sooner if possible.

Kraken's line usually isn't too long.:scared1: Have a great time.

Atlanis also has a really long line.
Get to shows 45-30 min early.
You said your son loves dolphins so you should definitley do the dolphin feeding. I usually do the first feeding of the day so they dont run out of fish.
Shamu express usually has a long line too.
You should check the SW website to see what time the shows are.

SEA WORLD is a great park and your family will love it.

One thing that we did was that was good was The Shamu Show twice-go to th regular show and to the one at night-Shamu Rocks. It was a different experince. Alos, beware the soak zone at Shamu. It truely is! So if you do NOT want to be wet, move up! or wear a rain poncho(stll get a bit wet as the water leaks onto your seat). This park has something for everyone and is not overwheling.

Kracken is great-my oldest son could go on it but my younger 2 could not-maybe next time for them.

All of us went on Atlantis-that was great. I don't recall Shamu Express.

It looks like you have a very busy schedule so for all parks I would say plan to do what you want and don't worry about anything else. Enjoy the journey becuase no matter what you do it will be great.

Have a wonderful trip and I hope your DS feels well.
