OK, I'm a WDW virgin. My very first trip will be Jan 18-24. 6 nights. We most likely will be doing DDP, and we're almost at our 180 mark, so I'm overplanning ;)

I've reviewed the park hours and such for the week we;ll be there (which includes MLK weekend). The first night- Friday Jan 18, is my bday :)

Here's my thoughts- help me and throw in any suggestions you may have!

Oh- it will be just me and DH, no kiddos! :)

Friday night (we likely will arrive very early Fri morning as our plan is to fly red eye Thurs night- from CA): either Le Cellier or Coral Reef

Saturday: ??

Sunday: MK EMH, Concourse Steakhouse @CR

Monday: Chefs de France/Coral Reef/LeCellier (whichever we didn't get for first night)

Tuesday: ? MGM has EMH this night, any suggestions?

Wednesday: ?

Thursday: ?

DH wants Chefs de France- he thinks he went there 20 years ago (his only time to WDW) and it was the best ever he says- all he remembers is he ate somewhere in France. LOL I'm torn- the menu doesn't look all that great to me, and I"'ve heard mixed reviews. My must do's are Coral Reef and LeCellier. Also- I'm more of a classic eater- some would deem picky LOL I love steak, Olive Garden and classic foods, and not into trying too out there choices.

Any help from you vets? Thanks!

Kona Cafe. The Mahi Mahi is good, but he steak is very poor. The other food on the menu is good. Don't even try Garden Grill. I just can't get this one off my mind. We dined there last week it was awful. If your in Downtown Disney try Wolfgang Puck Express. Also, try Artist Point in WL. Cal. Grill too. We did Spoodles and I thought it was good. The portion seemed on the small side, but it was highly ranked on our list for this past trip.

MGM-50's Prime Time or Hollywood Brown Derby
Epcot-definitely try Le Cellier one day, San Angel Inn

What resort are you staying at?

First - you are not overplanning. Our trip is Jan 24-31st and my ADR's are ready to be called in. I've already got my itinerary set, too! :rolleyes1

Anyway -- dining preferences are so subjective and you'll probably get a bunch of different answers, but here's my $.02:

Your Le Cellier choice is a good one. Love that place and a good value on the DDP.

I've heard both good and bad reviews about Coral Reef, but I would definitely take it in. My sister was there this past January and said it was by far their favorite meal.

I'm not really crazy about the MGM table service restaurants (JMO) - if you do choose to go TS here, I would go Hollywood Brown Derby, although it's 2TS credits and you might not want to do that.

Here are some others:
**Boma in the AKL is a great place to eat, too! Good variety of food - some think it's a bit spicy, tho
**Artist Point -- although I think this is 2TS credits, too
**Whispering Canyon Cafe - fun, active dining
**Kona Cafe in the Poly -- one of our favorites!!
**Grand Floridian Cafe - quiet, good food
**Cap'n Jacks in DD (if you like twin lobster tails!) - yum
**Wolfgang Puck Express is an awesome CS in DD

I've never been to Les Chefs de France or Concourse, so I can't give advice there.

Just some other options for you to check out - my best advice would be to check the menus on this site of the different restaurants that are recommended to you so you know what each serves -- it could be an awesome restaurant, but if you don't like the food choices it obviously wouldn't work for you.

Happy planning! :goodvibes
