We had planned on avoiding the US for the next 4 years…but one of my kids has always been enamored with Tom Sawyer Island. Now that the end date has been announced, we just booked a whirlwind weekend trip to say goodbye to it.

I haven’t done Disney in a while so need a quick primer on Lightning Lane options, etc. We will likely only be going to Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Flights are booked, deposit on Pop so that we can use the Skyliner.

Points: I need 400 more AM asap to redeem for a set of tickets. Recommendations?

I also have lots of Scene points, what can I use those for?

Thanks for all of your help!

Scene points can be used for giftcards, I don't think it's the best use of them but they have Lyft, or Disney.

To get AM, how soon do you need them? They are not as easy to earn fast nowadays, Shell can earn you some bonus ones and usually post quickly, receipts but those sometimes have issues. Pharmasave usually has some kind of offer on weekends. Surveys can get you a few but I find it time consuming.

Are you able to use some AM and some cash for the tickets? Obviously all AM is better :D

I can't answer the LL questions, I haven't used it yet but am interested in the answers. Have fun!

I thought I could pay the difference but it doesn’t seem to give me that option with tickets, unless I was doing something wrong, it’s been a while though 😊

Just making sure you're aware that the Skyliner only goes to Studios and Epcot. Not MK.

I just wanted to point that out since it seems the primary reason for your visit is TSI which is in MK.

Which weekend are you planning on going. I can check my Touring website to see what they are predicting the crowd levels to be. I read something the other day on another email that said crowds were lower and Lightening lanes weren't necessarily needed.

We’re be in the parks June 28, 29 and 30. I checked 3 crowd calendars and they all said different things 😁

Great plan. My kids loved Tom Sawyer Island sad to see it go!

When you add the tickets to your cart and then go to checkout, at the very bottom of the page will be a box to apply your AM, I don't have enough for any tickets currently lol, but it should look like this:

You should be able to pick the number of AM, at least half the cost, and pay $$ for the rest. BUT you may have to be Onyx (I assume you are since you have enough for so many tickets!).

It does look like that, but then won’t let me move the sliding part. Maybe I’ll try a different browser 🤷‍♀️

Not to be too nosy, but do you have any version of the scotiabank scene+ travel credit card?
We have the gold version of this card, but there's a no fee version of it too (it's an Amex).

I charge anything categorized as "travel" and then use my scene points to pay off that charge on the credit card. That's how I use my scene points for Disney.

However, you can also "trick" yourself into using them for Disney. "Spend" $50 worth of points (5,000) at whatever store you spend scene+ points at (I use Sobeys, Lawtons, etc here in NS), and then transfer $50 to your vacation fund. Or buy a $50 Disney gift card!

As someone else mentioned, the exchange rate isn't great on Disney gift cards, but they are an option if you'd rather not have another credit card (if you don't already have that one). But "tricking" yourself is a better exchange rate!

My family's going to be there that same weekend! Also making a last trip to Tom Sawyer Island

While not ideal, you could buy a pass with one fewer day and then pay Disney directly to upgrade it.
