I was talking with my 15 yr ds this weekend and we came up with an epic idea. I’m all for encouraging creativity and being spontaneous so help! And he wouldn’t agree to any other day trip I wanted to take. I jokingly asked “do you want to go to Disney for the day”. And he agreed. And then I thought...why not.

Our plan is to fly into Orlando from Providence,RI on the 6am flight, arriving about 930am

We will take an Uber to Magic Kingdom. Stay at MK until 3:30 pm and head to Epcot for 5pm Candlelight Processional, dinner and leave the park by 630

last flight home which is normally a 9:30pm flight. home by midnight.

soooo where I need help. Which day? We are looking in December and Sunday, Monday or Tuesdays work best.

is there any day that is better? We don’t plan of doing a ton of rides or shows, just want to see the Christmas decor and soak in some disney magic.

i understand traveling in December may result in weather delays.
any recommendations on the narrator for the Candlelight Processional?
any other tips?

As others have pointed out to me in other threads you may want to Uber to the contemporary then walk over to MK. Uber to MK will drop you at the TTC which can add a lot of time on as you’ll have to then take the ferry or monorail to MK.

Keep in mind that monorail drop to American pavilion is a long walk clear across the park. Build in walking time! When you leave perhaps consider ubering from Beach Club to the airport since you’ll already be on that side of Epcot.

As far as days check the ticket calendar to see prices on single day tickets. Lower price days should indicate lower crowd level.

This will no doubt be exhausting but hopefully worth it. Good luck!

Love this idea. Sounds like a blast. It will be an incredibly tiring day but that can be the fun of it. My wife and daughter once flew to Chicago from Boston to see a matinee of Hamilton and then back in the same day (way cheaper than driving to NYC and seeing in on Broadway).

I love when people think outside the box for Disney. Not everything has to be planned out with ADRs and FP+s.

Definitely Uber to Contemporary and walk to MK from there to avoid the TTC. December is a really busy time so just take that into account. Bottom line, though, is that this will be a memorable experience for you two and just roll with whatever happens. The important part is that you're together!
