HI,

Please help me pick a restaurant for NYE with DS who will be 12. He likes steak, burgers, hotdogs, chicken. I love shellfish and steak. I do not want to go to one of the restaurants with the $450 pp plan for NYE. Obviously since he is a child, he cannot drink alcohol, so places with drinks included, would not be a good option. We are staying at Boardwalk Villas and want to spend the evening at Epcot or at Boardwalk area. Thanks for your input!

If you're planning an Epcot NYE, I would recommend that you eat in Epcot and not try to enter late in the evening. For both steak and seafood, I would choose Teppan Edo ... but you will have to sit with other people at a table for 8 which might be uncomfortable. A lot of people really like Le Cellier for steaks and others like Coral Reef for seafood. I would lean toward Coral Reef myself as I am not as wild about Le Cellier as others are. I would also choose a dinner no later than 7:00-7:30 pm. The restaurants are usually pretty backed up and you will have wait for your table longer than usual. Remember! You can make your reservation tomorrow as you're staying at BW :).

Thanks Robin. I think we will go with either Teppan Edo or Le Cellier. :thumbsup2 Do you know if they have a special NYE menu, or just the same as usual?

I'm going to ask a silly question:

Where are these $450/pp places with alcohol inluded? I know I've never been at WDW for NYE since I was very young, but I had no idea!!
fill me in!

thanks!

Oh, and I agree with the PP that you should stay in Epcot if that's where you want to be. I LOVE Le Cellier, have always had a great experience there. I'm trying Coral Reef for the first time this fall, and I can't wait!

I also do like Japan, we didi that 2 years ago and it was fantastic. Granted, it has changed since then, but I think it is very similar. Is Spoodles an option? They have steak kabobs and great fish. That was my favorite spot from last year's trip.

Enjoy! And, happy planning!:goodvibes

Marrrakesh also serves steak kabobs :).

I just wanted to throw in that you might want to do some research about the crowd levels at Epcot during past years.

I have personally never been to WDW during NYE, but I have read on here that the parks often fill to capacity quickly on Christmas and NYE. If they end up temporarily not letting people in during your ADR time, they will not even allow you to enter if you have a dining reservation and you might end up losing your reservation. I've heard alot of people on here suggest people to get an ADR at an out of park restaurant in one of the resorts, DTD, or on the BW.

There are a lot of great restaurants on the BW. Cape May Cafe at the BCR has a great buffet and should be pretty kid friendly for NYE. Yachtsman Steakhouse at the YCR gets great reviews, though it might be a signature restaurant-I can't remember (from your food choices, I gathered you were looking for something semi casual?). Flying Fish & Spoodles are supposed to be pretty good as well.

Anyways, it's just something to think about. I've read about alot of disappointed people on here who missed their park restaurant ADR's on Christmas due to park crowding and I wouldnt want the same thing to happen to you!

I go every NYE (since 99/00) and I have NEVER had a problem returning to Epcot around 5-6pm.

That's good to know! Do any of the parks have issues with reaching capacity on NYE or are they all generally ok? The stories I've read about Christmas are amazing-some reaching capacity by noontime!!

Yes, the MK closes to new guests well before noon and then tends to re-open after the parade when all the people who have been wandering from one incredibly long line to another are tired and leave.

It gets very, very busy on NYE. We get to the parks when they open and leave around 12-2 pm for a swim and then we're back into the parks around 5-6 for dinner and fireworks.

This is what we are planning to do too. I cannot handle an entire day at the parks. Especially without some good coffee!:rotfl2: Hopefully this will work for us and we will not get shut out.

Wow! I had no idea that there were options like this! The $450 price tag is a bit high though.... how great would that be!!!!!!!

I'm sure you'll figure out a good idea for you two for NYE.

robinb: I forget what peak season is like--we haven't been in peak since 2004! Those pics were great with all those wait times!

Enjoy!:goodvibes

I made the ressie for Teppan Edo. I figured that way we are already at the back of WS and closer to the exit at International Gateway than we would be if we ate at Le Cellier or Coral Reef. I am sure it will get hard to manuever the crowds as it gets closer to Midnight and I thought that we would walk "home" through International Gateway too.

But if you get to the park by 7am - you'll have the place all to yourself for a couple hours!

We were thinking about that night as well. I thought it was this wednesday we could make an ADR for NYE? Does it matter where you stay? We are at BCV.

You can make your NYE reservation 180 days before you check-in day and not 12/31. My check-in day is 12/28, so I can book tomorrow :). We're going to Coral Reef.

DD(23) (and still a fussy eater!) and I had an early dinner (we were going to MK for rope drop on1/1) at Ohana (7ish) for this past NYE. They had bbq chicken wings, turkey, beef (we don't eat beef but I think steak?), pork, shrimp (I think-we didn't have it). The food is brought to your table and it just keeps coming!! We enjoyed everything and got to see the holiday version of Wishes with the sound piped in as we had dessert (banana bread pudding). It was really very nice and very kid-friendly.

Thanks, we arrive the 28th as well. BCV. Grabbed Teppan Edo at 7PM for 12 of us NYE. Glad I read this (PM'ed MBELSANTI) or I may have missed out.
