"Why are you asking complete strangers on the internet what hairstyle you should get?"

because I have looked at hundreds of images and just don't know.

I want short (bob). I have a round face, thin(ish) hair which I'm hoping to make look fuller. Needs to be low maintenance.

It's been almost to my butt in length for years. I'm turning 30 so I think it's time to let go.

How about a layered bob? Very close to the neck in the back and longer in the front? I am guessing that would be good look but I'm not an expert! :) Hopefully some others can weigh in with pictures.

I was thinking layers because it would hopefully fill it out a little but I'm afraid of bad layering!!! I've seen some really messed up layers, just a mess on a head.

Would this look good on a rounder face?

I had long hair like yours went to a all one length to my shoulders first time. Over time I went to long layers. I have very thin hair and this works for me. I do have a wave to my hair.I just wash and go no fuss at all.

You woudn't believe how much more body you well have when you cut it. If your hair is thin the weight makes it look flat. I can tell when my hair is getting too long , the top and sides are just so flat.

If you get a "swing bob" or a "wedge" that requires frequent trips to the stylist every 6 weeks for a trim job, so just keep that in mind.

Plus I have to blow dry a shorter cut with a round brush to get the styled "look".

All I am saying is keep the upkeep and daily maintenance in mind when selecting a style.

A blunt cut is easier to maintain and you can let it go for awhile but if you have thin hair it might look sparse unless you use products and blow dry daily.

A longer layered look (think Jennifer Aniston) also requires less upkeep than a swing bob or wedge while giving you some fullness with the layers.

Speaking of haircuts, I need a haircut myself.;) Good Luck with your selection!!!

I have fine hair and a lot of it, so if mine gets to long in looks stringy. I love having short hair. I tend to go with the pixie style that I can spike up or tame down.

Some times I think it is harder to style short hair, because I want to get eat chunk of hair into the correct place.

I love Traylor Howard! :goodvibes

I think that would look good.

Ask around for a good stylist, and get his or her opinion.

They'll know not only what looks best with your face, but what works best with your hair texture.

Oh, and look into donating your hair, please! You have enough that it could make a real difference to someone!

I just got my short summer cut on Thursday, and love it! I had forgotten how much I love my hair short!

Thanks everyone! I'm going today, and keeping all this in mind!!

Where do I donate hair? Is there a certain salon I should look for?

Hi,

My daughter has a round face and just got her hair cut in an inverted bob-shorter in the back and a bit longer in the front- and it looks terrific and it needs hardly any maintenence. Our hairdresser said this is a cut that looks great on just about everyone and is good for all ages. :goodvibes

I agree with this. Make an appointment at a good salon. Do not cheap out, not for this drastic of a change.

Have a consultation. They went to school for this. They should know what styles will look good with your facial structure and hair type. You may love a magazine photo and learn that it just doesn't work with your hair type at all.

This is a stylists business. They want you to look good. Let them help you.

If you get a bob, either get a long bob or get longer layers close to your face. It won't look as round.

I seem to keep going back to this cut -

it's a long bob. Jennifer Anniston sported it for a while too. I love it because I can wear it long and straight for every day, I can curl/flip it in or out, and I can still throw it up in a ponytail.

I tend to get my hair cut once or twice a year, and this hair style works well for that... and my hair grows fast... I got it cut to the length in the pics halfway through July, and by the holidays, it was down to my underarms again. I got it cut in Jan or Feb, and my shortest layer is past my shoulders again already.

Good luck!

Here's the link to Locks of Love:

Lots of my students and a few of my fellow teachers have donated. I think you need to have 10" to donate, I'm sure either the site or someone there can guide you. Your stylist should also be familiar with the process.

I did it! And I love it. Wow, my head feels so much lighter and better!

I donated 12 3/4 inches to locks of love! And I still have plenty left. :hippie:

Looks a lot like the pic I posted, maybe a tad bit longer. Layers look great and I took your advice and went some place who really know what they were doing rather then the local mall which would have been 20 bucks.

Thanks guys! You all rock!

I like the bob.

For obvious reasons.

Wonderful, on all counts.

Some sick child is going to spend the rest of his or her life thanking you for your donation.
