I am new here, and have never ever been to DW.
This question has to do with offsite villa stay for 7/7 nights, or just 5/7 or 6/7 nights. Offsite villa stay is definitely a given; the question is duration.
Our family, DH and me and a 3yo and 5yo will be in Orlando for a total of 9 nights, arriving on a Sunday (by car). We will be staying 2 nights (Sunday and Monday nights) at a nice offsite hotel, the Marriott World Center, for a business conference. For the most part, this is all free. We plan to lay low in Orlando those two days and just take the kids go swimming, etc. Supposedly the hotel has a fabulous pool. We will be well-rested but unexposed to a bit of Disney magic yet.
SO ... we check out of the Marriott on Tuesday morning and my guess is the kids will be ready for a full day of DW.
Neither DH nor I wish to spend all 7 nights with the kids in any of the Disney moderate resort rooms. But we may be willing to do it for one or two nights in a Disney moderate or value room (get EMH, quicker commute times to parks, deep magic immersion) when everyone is just super-excited and super-tired by nightfall, throw our stuff into the car in the morning, and then check into an offsite villa for the remaining 5 or 6 nights.
Would you do anything like the above, or think it's weird and recommend going straight away to an offsite villa and forego any temp Disney resort stays? (I don't think the kids would complain terribly about a DR to offsite villa move)
What you would do ?... Thanks!
Maggie
