help me get excited about the dolphin

i did it i did it . i just booked 10 nites at the dolphin at an amazing rate of 159.00 per nite . i requested to be close to the pool and a high floor . last 2 disney trips we stayed at the music and pop i always wanted to try a deluxe and this price beats disneys anyday . the only thing i cant take advantage of is the magical express oh well thats ok please give me any info on what i can expect at this hotel compared to the value resorts i am used to . btw 2 teens and my dh are traveling.

We spent last Easter at the Dolphin and loved it!! We had a great teacher rate and had a balcony room with a view of Illuminations every night My kids are teens as well and they loved being within walking distance of the boardwalk and so many activities! DS and DH just love the ESPN Club!!
Contrary to what others have posted, we didn't find the resort to be very spread out (especially when you compare it to POR or CBR) so I wouldn't worry about not being close to the pool...just know if you are in a room near the pool your chances of lake view and Illuminations view are slim. And that is just based on my memeory of how the resort is laid out.
You simply can not beat the Dolphin's location for the price!!

We stayed there last year for July 4th for 10 nights, my kids 11 and 15 loved it. We stayed at All Star music. CBR and WL prior to this stay.
We were 3/4 of the way up and are room had a view of the fireworks. We had the Ap rate through dreams unlimited. My kids are spoiled now and want to stay at the Dolphin all the time. Having boat transportation to two parks is a great benefit. The heavenly beds were awesome, they should all be redone by this year. Have fun you'll be happy you stayed at the Dolphin this year

I haven't stayed there, but I have toured it. It's a beautiful hotel lobby, has great restaurants there, and you have the advantages of being able to take a boat or walk to both EPCOT and MGM, as well as being able to walk to all the shops, restaurants and clubs at the Boardwalk, which is one of MY favorite places at WDW, and one of the reasons I bought into DVC at the Beach Club! Enjoy, I'm sure you'll love it!

Congratulations! I think you'll be so pleased with your choice! This will be our 5th consecutive year spending our anniversary week there and we LOVE it! From the minute you walk into the lobby and see the shooting stars in the "sky", you'll be hooked! The location is superb, there are wonderful restaurants, and the pool and hot tubs are AWESOME! The rooms are spacious and the heavenly beds so comfortable! I hope you enjoy your vacation!!

Unlike Disney S/D has a $10/night resort fee and charges for parking. Still a great deal but just take that into account when you're budgeting your stay.

i am very excited ty all for the good reviews. i know about the resort fee but we will use the fitness center so at least it wont be a complete waste of the fee also i figure even if i got the room for 169 i would have still booked it so that also makes it easier. i also have a 100.00 starwood gift card i am going to use maybe for food or something.

I was at the Dolphin yesterday to have lunch at Tubbi's.....the grounds are just beautiful and the pool and beach areas spectactular......lucky you.....enjoy!

My family loves it there. The location is the main reason - so close to Epcot, MGM, and the Boardwalk. We love Fresh for breakfast and the Dolphin soda fountain for quick cheese fries and ice cream sundaes. I think you will love it there, we certainly did!

Oh, and the beds!
