Please help!!

I am going to Disney World On June 22 2005 and I am planning to get engaged. This will be our first trip to disney world. Every idea is welcome.

First question - do you want something private and secluded or do you want to make a big deal and propose in front of others?

"Wishes" (the nightly fireworks show)? It is a very moving show and going down on one knee with a ring would be great! Especially if you can get a good spot in front of the castle.

get a really good spot infront of the castle watch the show and than start walking out of the park but stop at the little seating area in the loop grab a seat as the park empties out when the park is basically empty watch the castle change colors.... and pop the question right than


another idea depending on if your on a budget or not--- its a little expensive but beautiful-- take an illuminations cruse and pop the question at the end of illuminations

Either in front of Cinderella's Castle or at dinner in Cinderella's Castle. They really make a big deal out of it there. There were two couples that got engaged there the last time we were there. It was great. Good Luck and be creative.

I am not a creative person and would like the help. And I have six months to plan this. What is the cruise around illumuinations and how much is that?

My cousin's fiance popped the question in Cindy's castle during dinner. He called and planned in advance. My cousin thought that she was getting dessert and it came out in a fancy covered dish. When they removed the cover, there was her ring inside a glass slipper on a bed of roses. When she turned to look at her now fiance he was beside her on one knee. I personally thought that was very romantic. Good luck!!!

Well, for secluded and romantic, I would recommend the beach at the Polynesian. You can eat a nice dinner at Kona Cafe, stroll down to the beach and cuddle in a hammock. Watch Wishes from your hammock and then get down on one knee.

You could do it first thing in the morning, right in front of the castle. If you are near one of the mainstreet photographers you can get a picture taken right away. I bet if you walked up to a photographer and told him what you were going to do, he would snap some pictures of the whole thing.

Any restaurant at WDW will help you propose if you let them know in advance. Just decide what she might like, eating in the castle, eating with characters, or eating at a very nice restaurant (say California Grill).

You could go mini golfing and drop the ring box in the hole when she isn't looking, then she'll find it when she goes to grab the ball.

Illuminations is beautiful at Epcot, you could have dinner at one of the World Showcase restaurants that has a view of Illuminations and do it then too.

How would i go about planning this with the resturants?
The dinner at the castle is very interesting. Is this common for the resturants to help out with the engagement? I have heard that the employees of Dinsey are the best but they really go this far I am amazed

Look over the Disneyworld website, or a book together. Watch her reaction to things. If there's something that strikes her as extra special, make a mental note of it and try to work it into the proposal.

If it's personal to her, she's sure to love it.

When you make a priority seating reservation (I don't have the number handy) you can mention it then. Also, when you check in, excuse yourself for the restroom and speak to someone about it, just to make sure everything is set. I've heard of people talking directly to a manager a day or two before as well.

Here I am to your rescue!

Get this, I met my wife at DisneyWorld. I met her just across from Crystal Palace at a circular area with a place to sit with vegetation in the middle. We watched Fantasy In the Sky. I met here there during Fantasy In the Sky. She was so pretty and single and I was single as well. I lived in NC and she lived in South Fl. We talked and then met back up at the park the next day and hung out.
When it was time for her to go back home she actually cried. We were hitting it off big time. We shared our first kiss at the parks and did so on Haunted Mansion of all places, where she kissed me first (I never get to hear the end of it). We talked on email, then phone, then webcams and phones. I flew to see her for a week then she flew to see me for a week. Before you know it, I moved to South Florida to be with her. We went back to Disney and I asked her to marry me there, in the same spot, during the same Fantasy In the Sky show. Then we got married one year from the time we got engaged and we spent a 2 week honeymoon at Disney as well.

Now that you've heard my story. Here's something very romantic that you should do. All proposals should happen in the evening at the Magic Kingdom. Use the day period to just enjoy the fact that you know what's coming. use the day to "butter" her up with super romanticism so that when the evening rolls around, you can pop it and WOW have you built it up well.

I would spend the whole day doing everything for her. Buy her things that she wants. Offer her things. Share a milkshake, etc.

firstly, for dinner, go to Cindarella's Royal Table. Get PS. It's very low lit and romantic. YOu must go after dark as the atmosphere is even better since the daytime is much brighter in there with the huge windows on the back side. Share a milkshake, (since you get to keep the pretty glass with the restaurants name on it, great keepsake for the day you got engaged) and the leave the restaurant and get a nice spot for the fireworks. DO IT A LITTLE BIG AWAY FROM MAIN STREET TO AVOID SHOULDER TO SHOULDER PEOPLE. Do it off to the side where you can SOMEWHAT have your own little area (if you are a shy person) and ask her there during the show.

If you are not a shy person and really want a big effect. When you make your Ps make it known (and especially with your waiter) that you are going to pop the question in the restaurant (only after dark). Give them the ring and they will bring it to your table as she least expects it and hand it to you to give to her. If you want I think they will even bake it in a small cake (but I would never do that). I would say do it in the restaurant by letting yoru waiting bring it to you after the meal. You will get a huge ovation in there from everyone. Who knows, if you let them know far enough ahead of time, you may even be able to get a character or two in there for the big question.

I dont really remember how to book it but if you look at the top of this board, you'll see from "sticky" a section on Illuminations Cruise. It will tell you how to book it.

the price is now $150.00 per boat for 1 hour (not per person) You can have up to 12 people if you like, or just yourselves.

You have to plan ASAP from what I hear.

A trip to Walt Disney World is what initially brought my fiancee and I together. She was planning a trip to WDW with her 3 kids when she saw my AOL S/N with its reference to Disney. She then asked if I knew anything about planning WDW trips. That brief chat before her trip turned into a wonderful dating relationship.

So when it came time to propose, I knew where it had to be done, Walt Disney World. I planned my moment for a trip for two that we had planned for the weekend before Christmas 2003. I knew from previous trips that they lit up Cinderella's Castle in various colors, including her favorite color of purple, throughout the evening. During our first night there, we went to the MK for MVMCP. Towards the end of the evening, I took her to the statue of Snow White between the Castle and Tomorrowland. When we got there I told her that I wanted to take a picture of her sitting on the bench, with the Castle, lit in purple, in the background. She sat down and we waited for the purple lights to shine on the Castle. When the Castle was ablaze in purple I took her picture, and then while down on one knee I pulled out the ring to pop the question. She said yes, and now we are planning a Disney Wedding during a future trip "home" to WDW.

I would like to keep the event under $3500.00.

I am asking for creative and the most romantic settings or ideas all of you guys & Gals have. I am also looking into the illuminations cruise. that sounds very romantic.

Does any one even have a dream of how they would have liked to been proposed to in Disney world that will help also.

If you cant get a PS for Cindy's castle, and want to be inside during a dinner, I would bet the good people at Le Cellier's Rest in Canada would be willing to help you out too!! We went for our anniversary, and I was amazed at how kind they were, much more magic than anywhere else for us that week! (which was fine!) WDW Florist also has special floral arrangements you can have delivered flowers, or stuff (we got a bag with treats inside) delivered, they have a website that I checked out, and had things delivered!! I've read that AKL is also a low lit, far away resort that may add romance if you call and ask...

You have some really great ideas . For someone who is new to WDW, I think the best place to propose would be the MK. The fireworks cruises are quite nice, but not as romantic as the day civileng68 suggested.
