Help me get engaged

To do it "on-stage" the first thing that came to mind was the Indiana Jones show. They always pull up a couple as a participant. You could get to the show early then excuse yourself to go the restroom only to go talk with a CM about your plans. I'm sure they would fix it for y'all to get picked and you could pop the question in front of an entire stadium filled with people.

You mention that your girlfriend is an active/sporty person....have you been to discovery cove to swim with a dolphin? It really is a fantastic experience anyway, although a little pricey at around $250 per person per day. But this also includes 7 day entry to seaworld or busch gardens. They do engagement packages where the ring can be delivered to your girlfriend by a dolphin during your dolphin swim. It sounds fantastic...for extra cost they can arrange champagne etc...Check out www.discoverycove.com for exact details.

My husband proposed in Dec 2002 at MK. He knows it is my favourite place in the whole world...we had lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table and enjoyed the day at the park. I was all teary eyed during the fireworks anyway but the floodgates really opened when he proposed at the end....i can't wait to go back and re-live it all!!! Best of luck! :shamrock:

Please help!!

I am going to Disney World On June 22 2005 and I am planning to get engaged. This will be our first trip to disney world. Every idea is welcome.

Thank you
I saw on another post that you were going down to Disney Feb. 2005. Since you were recently there did you check out any of the suggestions from this tread? Did you check with guest services when you were there? Let us know what you came up with.

I need help on some ideas for this September... I will be heading to WDW staying @ the Swan from Sept 22-Oct 1 (riding in a stretch limo from the airport - she has never been in one). What I am now considering is popping the question when we are there in WDW. The big question for me is how to do it... I am open to ideas and can use the help! The two options I am thinking about right now are during dinner in the Castle or during the fireworks in the MK. However I am open to other options also... Thanks!

I got engaged in WDW
I planned for a long time and a few things did not go as planned but it was in sept 16,2001 (if you think for few minutes) and we do (did) live in NYC. :charac2:
I drove there..... :moped:
anyway if i knew about the illlumination cruise I would have done it let them know and you will not regret it.
to get Breathless YOU WILL NEED TO BE THE FIRST ONE ON THE PHONE EXACTLY 90 DAYS BEFORE at 6 in th emoring start calling.....
my now wife dd not believe me she tried to book around 70 days before and no go fo rthe whole week --and we go in Sept...
here is a web site with a lot of info
the link is for the page about the boat and other options- you can book a pontoon boat as well.

good luck :cool1:

Congratulations! I don't really have any suggestions because i'm now certian that something like that will NEVER happen for me, but I want to wish you the best.

This is a great thread...i love all of the ideas..I hope i one day get a DISNEY proposal (lol)...I really love the illuminations cruise idea!!! I saw a website called unofficial disney weddings (or something like that) they have a whole list of stories of the way guys popped the questions in and around the parks...check it out !!!

My DH proposed in December at the end of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. During the later parade, he bought me one of those red light-up roses. After the parade he asked me if he could "look" at it. As we were walking to Space Mountain, he stopped me on the bridge to the right of the castle. This was the bridge near Cosmic Ray's - close to castle. He handed me back the rose with the ring on one of the leaves! It was kinda cheesy, but very sweet and romantic! We always stop at "our spot" on that bridge every trip.

We got married at WDW about 11 months later. The ceremony was on the beach/grass at the GF (now the pool  ) and our reception was at the California Grill.

I love all the ideas you have here. And it seems like you have a pretty decent budget too! Since I am not such a public person, I like the ideas of the cruise, dinner at the castle & proposing after in front of castle, etc. The private couples massage with private dining sounds wonderful too! You could also do crazy things: a friend of mine got engaged while they were riding Splash Mountain! You could propose on a monorail ride in the front cab. Maybe you could send her to a day of beauty at one of the spas - while you set-up the big proposal?!

I'd call Disney's Fairytale Weddings - I know there is a dept. that specializes in setting up proposals. I bet they have alot more ideas than the ones you are already getting here.

No matter what you end up doing, it will be perfect for you two. CONGRATS!

My husband proposed just behind the castle! He didn't want to make a big production, and wanted it more private, and there was a little alcove with benches down the back path. It was a Thursday, early entry day for MK, and around 8:40 am. I glowed all day, and the whole rest of our trip- in fact, I'm still glowing!! Anyway, if you're looking for a quieter spot, it's perfect!
Anyway, the last day of our trip we had lunch at CRT, and told them we had just become engaged, and they presented us with a pair of champagne flutes that we used for our toast! And my brother happened to be in Central florida on business with his wife, and they poppped by WL for breakfast with us, and he was telling the CM at the front desk all about it, and when we got back to the room that night there was a card from Mickey and Minnie, with an autographed photo of them, balloons, and some chocolate covered mickey pretzel heads! It was sweet!
I think a WDW proposal must be any DISer's dream proposal!! I know it was mine come true!! Best of luck!

Awww, reading all these proposals is making me tear up. Guess I'm one of those cheezy romantic types.

I still have 5 + months to figure out how I will propose, but I am still very unsure how best to do it. My GF loves fireworks and roller coasters. However, she is not too big on public attention. That in mind here are the ideas that I am considering...

Fireworks Options...
1) Propose in front of the Magic Kindom during Wishes - where is the big ???
2) Take a wishes cruise and propose during the fireworks ($140 for 1 hr)

Dinner Option...
1) During dinner in Cinderella's Castle

Exciting Option...
1) During a Ride on Spash Mountain with a boat all to ourselves (will be vising in late Sept so crowds should be light)
2) As we are going up Space Mountain

I know the last two are kinda crazy, but they are options... What does everyone think? I like the idea of in front of the Castle when "when you wish upon a star" starts on our first night... Any thoughts on where near the castle with a good view is best?

Best location regardless of crowd? vs. Best location wile keeping some semblance of privacy?

Thanks!!!

By the way - I am 33 - she is 27 and neither of us have been married before...
