Help Me Gameplan Purchase Direct vs Purchase Resale

My family is interested in purchasing GF2. I have a couple of quick questions:
1. Does purchasing say 300 points of GF2 allows you to book at GF1 and GF2 at the 11 month period?
2. Does it make more sense to game plan purchasing say 150 points direct so we get all of the extra benefits and such... but then add with resale points at a better dollar amount?
3. How much of a problem is it to have different purchase dates?
4. I was listing to the dvc DIS youtube show recently and they mentioned something about websites that track the selling price of resale DVC points? I would be
courious what the actual numbers are. Basically, if they are "close" to buying direct, I would probably just stick with buying direct, but if there is a significant savings then obviously I would consider that too. Any idea of the websites that they mentioned on the show recently?

Thanks!

We have a thread here that shows what people have paid. It’s a small sample but gives you an idea. The board sponsor also share their data regularly. www.dvcresalemarket.com

VGF is all one association so both direct and resale points are good at the entire resort, Direct points gives you access to RIV and all future resorts, which might include the new Poly tower and VDH…no decisions on whether that will be restricted or not.

Given the current incentives, I would probably get all points direct. When you purchase does not matter, but having the same UY does as it is all one membership then. So, if you split between direct and resale it helps to have the same one.

150-174 points for new members $204
300-499 points for new members $191
i assume if you buy all 300 and ask to split them into 2 150 point contracts they’ll give you the 300 point pricing, but am unsure.
The reason for splitting is if in the future you want to downsize, smaller contracts fetch better prices per point. You do pay higher closing costs doing it that way, though.

Various comments on other threads seem to indicate you can split the purchase and get the incentive. You just pay double closing costs. So I believe you are correct and this is the best way to go for GFV

Do the math if you go direct it might make more sense to do everything direct.
Direct 300 points = total price
Resale 150 first then direct 150 w/ member discount = total price

Finally do the math on:
Resale 300 points = (either 1 contract or 2/3 contracts) total price

Now you can compare what the price difference is between the options (can always change slightly because of resale pricing). This will help you determine if you want to spend the extra for direct or not. Right now APs are not for sale and Disney keeps changing things so its hard to say what will happen. DVC will likely always have a ticket discount but might not be an AP discount and might not add up to much saving.

Without the math above I couldn't honestly say what to do and since I haven't looked at buying VGF recently there is no way to say this or that is better.
