Help me figure out how to extend my Aulani reservation **GOT IT!

So as some of you know from my other thread, it took 10 days of frustration at 8:00 AM each day while trying to book Aulani at the 7 month window before I finally was able to book a 1 BR ocean view for June 23-30.

I'd like to get an 8th and possibly even a 9th night. I'm still fuzzy on the concept of "walking back" a reservation. Can anyone help me figure out what is possible in order to get that 8th night?

So I have June 23-30. I just checked on the DVC site and typed in June 24-July 1 to see what availability looks like for a 1 BR ocean view. It shows June 24 taken, but all other days including July 1 available. Do I have any options to snag that July 1 night without having to wait for the 7 month window for that particular date?

If June 24 had been available, could I call member services and leave my June 23 night alone while booking June 24-July 1 like a new reservation, and then link those 2 reservations together? Or would they say that I'd have to cancel entirely in order to rebook? I don't feel very hopeful getting that scenario to work anyway, because the first day would probably be gone again - certainly by 9:00 when I could call MS.

Is there any other scenario that I'm not thinking of, that would make this work? I'm so close to having an 8 night reservation, that I hate to think of not being able to get that 8th night. (I can probably only do a 9th night if a cheaper view were to open up, maybe for a totally different set of dates in Juy. If I stick with ocean view on these dates, I'll cap it at 8 nights so I stay within my point "budget" that I set for this trip.)

Just call and have them add the last 2 days to your current reservation. You can wait until tomorrow and do both days at one time.

Sure, as long as they're within the 7 day window where you could reserve an entire reservation. You reserved 23-30 June yesterday, you could reserve 25 June to 2 July tomorrow. Therefore you could add those last 2 days as early as tomorrow.

Wow, that's way easier than I thought. Looks like I was way over-thinking this. I was afraid that MS would make me cancel part of the first res. and then attempt to rebook with the 8th night added.

I think I'll call this morning and get the 8th night added on. That's all I want to do for now since it's ocean view and more points.

Got it! Yes, i was WAYYY over-thinking this. It was easy as pie to just modify the reservation. This was the first easy part of this whole Aulani reservation ordeal.

Now, bring on the pina coladas.
