Help me decide

We are going back to DVC in January. We made our first trip home to OKW and absolutely loved the space we had in a 1 bedroom for the two of us. This next trip we have reservations at WLV and we are bringing a friend who will sleep on the pull out couch. We have stayed at the lodge before we were DVC members and it was one of our favorite stays and that was just in a regular room! My question is do you think the 3 of us will be happy there? Looking at the pictures, WLV 1 bedrooms look so much smaller. We felt we were in a huge condo when we were at OKW! Is WLV really as small as the pictures suggest to me? It's a 30 point increase for us to stay there and I just want to be comfortable, especially with an extra person. I am afraid that our first OKW experience might have ruined us from staying anywhere else! What are your thoughts?

With just three people, I can't imagine you would feel cramped in either room. Yes, you will see a noticable difference between OKW and VWL, but your guest won't have that same frame of reference and will probably be stunned by the amount of room even at VWL.

I wouldn't move--try something different.

I had the exact same fears about our BCV's stay that we just got home from! I was very afraid, I would feel like the room was sooo much smaller than at OKW but...I was very pleasantly surprised! And we are a family of 4 -- me, dh, and 2 small kiddo's The kitchen will definetly feel a bit smaller but the rest of the villa was actually cozy in size. The only thing I really felt like I missed was the laundry room. OKW has an actual laundry room as oppossed to just stackable's in the closet ~ mostly I missed it because of the noise from the W/D though, not because of the space. The balcony of course was smaller too. We had 2 small balcony's (one off the LR and one off the master bdrm) each with a small table and 2 chairs. We didn't mind this as we usually just sit out there (dh and I) with a drink at night. If you like to sit with 4 people like at OKW, or for a meal on the balcony, you may miss it. But for us, we didn't mind it. The villa itself though, although a little smaller, didn't feel like ~ ugh, what did we stay here for or anything like that. We really liked it. I know you're asking about VWL and not BCV's but they are more comparable in size to each other so if it helps you, as an OKW owner who loves my home resort, I have to say, Yes, it's a little smaller but think of it as "different" not better or worse that's the best advice I was given from all my dis pals and I'm happily passing on to you.

The unit is certainly amply sized for a vacation condo-style unit. My only suggesiton would be to close the pull-out once your friend is up & out of bed, because it is a bit tight in the living room area with it open.

The kitchen is smaller than at OKW, but still very serviceable.

The peace and tranquility of VWL is just great. I am sure you'll enjoy!
