Help me decide!

We have been saving up for out family trip to WDW. This is more than likely our once and only family trip to Orlando. We are staying 9 nights onsight at WDW, but we are looking to to a couple of "other things" while we are in the Orlando area. We do plan on traveling to Sea World for one day. Is it worth our time to travel to US/IOA for a day? If so, should we try to do bothparks in the same day? Or should we do only one and if so which would be better to go to? We are coming to Florida on May 24 and leaving June 2.

to the DIS!

It might help to know what kinds of rides your family enjoys. Both Universal and IOA have rides for all ages and the themeing at IOA is awesome!

Can you tell us a little more about the types of rides you guys like?

We all have a little bit of different tastes. My daugther, age 12, likes rides that go upside down and coasters with big drops. My son, age 8, and I like coasters with big drops that don't go upside down. My wife is not a big fan of getting wet. She has done some coaster rides with us.

You and your daughter would LOVE Hulk and Dueling Dragons but your son wouldn't...they go upside down. Revenge of The Mummy at the Studios doesn't go upside down but is a blast! There are several water rides at IOA...stay away from those. It kinda sounds like you'll want to stick to the Studios for the day. By that time, The Simpsons should be open...let's keep our fingers crossed.

It's not really recommended because it's going to be busy but since you only have the one day, it could work. Besides...the price difference between the 1 park and 2 park pass is only something like $10.00 or so.

Get there early and if you want to do The Simpsons, hit the Studios FIRST thing or you won't get on it because of the lines.

how are you spending all of your other days?? It sounds as though you all like some of the more 'exciting' type of rides to some degree - and IOA and Universal may be better for you than some of the 'tamer' disney rides - I wouldn't suggest you miss disney as that is a wonderful experience in itself, but could you possibly free up a second day and have a day each at Universal and IOA ? as I think from what you have said you will really enjoy both parks!! - have fun!!!

I 2nd freeing up another day and doing both US and IOA. I would also do them at the end of the trip. If you do them at the beginning your kids are going to be begging you to go back the entire time you're at WDW (speaking from the voice of experience).
