Hi :) We just got back from a very magical trip to the world yesterday so I need to start planning the next trip lol. We did 4 days at Pop with 2park days at MK, and spent two days offsite at Seaworld. This was our first trip with our kids (4 and 1), and our second trip together (honeymoon August 2007). While we were able to do and see everything we wanted and the crowds were very manageable the rain was not. :( The kids birthdays are March and February so I was thinking of a trip around those times. After checking crowd calendars the first week in February seems the best for low crowds. Can someone who has been give me some first hand pros/cons about this time of year? Thank you!!

Hubby and I are going the 1st week of February next year....:cool1:

We've gone that month before and it was nice weather wise...cool at night and early mornings though. Crowds were high due to us going half of President's week , but half into the next week wasn't as bad. According the crowd levels, the 1st week of February should be good. We're also looking forward to not sweating 24/7!

I love that time of year from a crowd and weather perspective. The only bummer is that those exact reasons contribute to that time of year being used for ride refurbs and decreased park hours/shows. Since we don't do fireworks and most rides are open, we prefer off season perks!

That is when we go every year. We are from northern Minnesota so for us 65 degrees is pool weather :) that being said we needed sweatshirts most nights.
I agree with PP about refurbs, I don't think Splash has ever been open when we've been there.
Crowds are manageable but headliners will still have long waits (mid-day I think TT and Soarin are usually about 60-75 minutes and BTMRR is about 45 minutes). With planning and FP+ the only thing we waited for longer than 30 minutes for was an extra ride on TSMM and Elsa and Anna in Epcot.

We love October, it seems to be the best of everything our family enjoys.

Despite being from Wisconsin I like my warm weather (I just know I was supposed to be born in a southern climate ;) ) so while we did have swimming days in February (our trip was Jan. 31- Feb. 7 this year) there were also days we spent the entire day in jeans and sweatshirts. We did have 4 days where the weather was sunny and hot...but not Florida summer hot...just perfect days ;) I am told we got really lucky as we know people who went both before and after us and their weather was not so great, but we all know how last winter was!
Jing pointed out one of my disappointments. Refurbishments. All in all it wasn't too awful but we didn't get to do a few things we would have liked to due to refurbishments. The decreased park hours didn't really bother us. We had plenty of time and I enjoyed the fact that the fireworks were earlier in the evening than other times of year. Though another disappointment was also that Main Street Electrical Parade happens far less often, and before realizing that I scheduled our days according to the crowd calendars...well of course since it is only on some days people crowd MK on those days and so we weren't in MK on MSEP days and missed it. Just something to keep in mind.

I just spent the last week of September there with my son and it was hot, muggy, and rainy. Half way through the day we were tired and sore and sweating like crazy.

We went in Feb one year and it was a lot cooler and looking back, I really liked that. At the time I was bummed, feeling like I'm missing the Florida sun but I'd rather have a cool day then feel like I'm in a sauna. We had so much more energy and it was nice to feel a little chill in the air. I'm from New England so a 60-65 degree day to me is perfect. The poor locals were bundled up like it was the arctic but it was perfect for being outside all day.

I'd vote Feb. March seems to be Spring Break time which I assume would be hectic but with Feb, you may get delays with flights for bad weather so trip insurance would be wise.
