I'm staying at a value with no DDP this time. I thought about just keeping it simple & bringing some fresh bagels w/cream cheese in my cooler bag to eat in the room before I head out for the day.

But, I'm thinking that one morning it would be nice to treat myself to a big breakfast to get the day started. I've never had breakfast on property before so maybe some suggestions might help me narrow my search down. :)

It doesn't matter whether it's a buffet or entree, character or not, or the location, as I can utilize Disney transportation or my car to get anywhere I need to be. I also have no preference for QS or TS, though I'm sure the best places will be TS's. Also FYI, I'm not really much for sweets. I'd be more interested in savory options.

TIA!

Crystal Palace has a good breakfast! Also, they open at 8:00 am and the park usually opens at 9:00 am, so if you want to see the park without people, go early to the Crystal Palace and have a breakfast (need to make a reservation to go early and in general, reservations go quick). Just my thought!

We usually eat our breakfast in the room, too. And we usually try to eat out for one breakfast each trip. Our "go to" breakfast is Whispering Canyon Cafe. My kids loved the crazy interactions & still talk about it years later. The food was good too. We tried Kona Cafe once. We liked it but didn't love it. I personally felt the Tonga Toast was good but not great. Maybe a victim of overhype? Last year we tried Crystal Palace. The food was amazing! They had some generic foods you'll find at any Disney breakfast but their unique offerings were incredible. I guess we also tried Chef Mickey's last time too. The food, overall, was not great. The character interaction was fantastic.

I agree.

These are some of our favorites, no particular order...
The Wave has a very fresh, tasty buffet. The chefs are constantly refreshing it. It is very seldom busy, sort of a hidden gem.
Trails End, another buffet that has comfort foods with a few unique items.
Boma, the flavors burst in your mouth
Kona, macadamia pancakes, mmmmmm
Olivias, comfort foods with a few unique items

We also normally eat breakfast in the room. However, we have eaten breakfast at Tusker House once and found it to be excellent. This year, I have a reservation booked for 8:40 at CP--the park opens at 9. Excited both for the food and the view of the empty park.

If I was doing breakfast alone at WDW, I would choose Kona Cafe. Yummy but lower key. If you want a character meal, I would choose CP on your MK day. If you really just want breakfast food without fanfare, the values food court breakfast is good, easy and much cheaper than a buffet or TD. You can get a adult size serving of mickey waffles even though they are not on the menu.

Agree with Think 1. I'm not a huge breakfast fan in general, but we love, love, love Kona. Hands down the best disney breakfast I've ever had. Top it off with kona coffee and a bloody mary and pure perfection

If you want to try something different where you don't need a reservation, head to Les Halles in France at Epcot. The bakery opens when the park does and they have a lot to choose from. I especially like their mimosas 8-)

that's going to be my plan for our epcot day. our first fp+ is at, i think, 9:30, so we'll hit that then head over to les halles for some yummy patisserie food.

Boma or Kona would be my two suggestions for a savory breakfast or go all out and get a pre-park opening breakfast in the castle with Cinderella!

Depends on your focus.

If you're trying to obtain an advantage and be at a Park before the gate opens to the general public, options are:
MK - Cinderella's Royal Table (with Princesses), Crystal Palace (Pooh & friends), Be Our Guest (if breakfast becomes a permanent thing)
AK - Tusker House (Mickey & friends) - a 'lesser' version of Boma breakfast, but with Characters (Mickey & pals).
EP - Akershus (Princesses too)

In the resorts:
Fresh - Dolphin serves great buffet with fresh juices (i.e., carrot, beet, ginger).
Kona - some swear by Tonga Toast, but that is certainly a sweet treat.
1900 Park Fare - buffet with Alice & friends in Grand Floridian.
Cape May - buffet with Goofy & pals in Yacht Club.
Boma - a true standout, maybe with a bit more savory than most places.

lots of great choices....Our FAV by far was Kouzinnas. Now closed, but the new place they opened has a somewhat similar breakfast menu. Can't vouch for it yet, not visiting until June...Cool thing is it's easy to get into- gets you onto the Boardwalk which is really pleasant in the (somewhat) early morning. And you can experience walking into Epcot via the World Showcase entrance.

If money is a concern, and even if it isn't, you really need to try a Mickey waffle at your food court.
I know you said you are not much for sweets, but you have to have a Mickey waffle if you have not yet tried one.
Next, TS suggestion would be Grand Floridian Café. It is quite lovely and peaceful, and some wonderful options.

Our favorite breakfast on property are Whispering Canyon Cafe and Olivia's. We always pay out of pocket and for myself and my son it is usually around 35 - including tip. I think breakfasts are great deals and worth paying for to start your day. Usually we will eat breakfast and have a snack in the middle of the day and split dinner.
