We're heading to DW June 3-9 for our second family trip. We've rented points to stay at VWL. We're getting the dining plan and were going to buy 7 day PH. We were going to come in a day early, stay offsite, and go to Seaworld. I know they have the deal where you get free PH and WP options on stays through June 2 with a three night stay. So I approached DH with the idea that we go three days earlier, stay at POFQ, get 10 day PH and WP. So we would be at DW 9 nights and just forget about Seaworld. According to my figures, it would only be a little over $800 more to stay for the three nights and that includes the dining plan and lodging. That's not bad, is it? He says he doesn't think he wants to stay at DW that long:confused3 Who wouldn't want to be there that long!:cool1: It will be me, DH, DS12, DS5, and DS2, celebrating DS's 6th birthday and other DS's 3rd birthday (getting in a quick trip before we have to start buying him a ticket). I think this is a pretty good deal. What do you think?

We stayed on property for years, then we did the cheap condo tours to frequent FL more often, like 3 times a year, then finally purchased a 2nd home in the WDW area, try a condo, the dining plans and all the extra's are very expensive and unless you do eat three meals aday......

My priority was getting to FL anyway, and staying at Disney was great when my kids were very young, they are now 13 and almost 18, so they can get around on the buses anywhere together, and could give tours themselves, so I would stay in the value resorts...........you can always get your fill of the expensive resorts by taking dh to dinner at night and putting your kids in a babysitting camp, my kids went to all of them but loved the Poly's Peter Pan one the best they are fantastic.
Your dh will be happy and when you come home you won't be packed with bills! You might even get another trip or two before you know it!:woohoo:

Even though we have a home in WDW area, my dh and myself still go to the different resorts we loved to dine at when we stayed there-there's so much to do, you don't have to stay on property to have a great time..........:cool2:

16 days to family time!!!:grouphug: :hourglass :flower3:

I agree to stay at a value. Some people think it is too cramped, but my family (5 in all) tends to try to cram on 1 couch together. So, we are used to smaller areas. We stayed at ASSports when my kids were 7, 5 and 2. They brought is in a pack in play for DD2. We loved the value themeing. We would stay at values again if they allowed 5 in 1 room. Now we stay at POR. That would save you some money! We are staying 11 days this summer! We cannot wait. We will also be going to Sea World. A friend is going to buy our tickets for us as a gift! Free day!!! (except the food).

My advice is to stay at POR in lieu of Riverside. Much more relaxing.

I can understand about his thoughts of staying to long. After about 6 days of wherever I go I am ready to go home.

Offer him a "men" night. Let him hit ESPN bar or something like that.
