I have been reading on this site for years and this is my first post. I am looking at going to Disneyland next month and with the great rates the fall promo is offering I am trying to decide which resort hotel to stay at and need some help. We will be a family of 5, 3 adults, 1 teen and 1 infant.
I am looking for recommendations and reasons, please and thank you.

I think Disneyland Hotel if you want to stay on property. The monorail pool is perfect for a teenager. And since infants tend to be able to have their various needs met anywhere, unlike toddlers who need a room near by, I don't think the Grand's location is a big draw for you.

Grand Californian: I've always dreamed of staying at GCH someday, it's so gorgeous, though it doesn't have as much Disney theming as the DLH. Shorter walk to the park entrance. However, it's the most expensive of the three by far; if the numbers were a bit closer for me (ie. with a screamin' deal!) I would splurge. :thumbsup2

Disneyland Hotel: We have stayed here numerous times. The pool area is great, though I haven't seen it since it's been remodeled. We also enjoy the grounds here: waterfall area including koi pond, the restaurants (Goofy's Kitchen is a big hit with the kids), the gazebo and topiaries. The hotel is older, so the rooms tend to be a bit larger.

Paradise Pier: Least expensive, and compared to DLH, a shorter walk into DCA via the GCH! Not as much outside of the room of interest as the DLH, though of course there is a small pool area, and I believe it has a slide. My kids and I are staying here on our next trip, and they requested the PPH character breakfast over Goofy's Kitchen, to my surprise. We decided to save a little more money on hotel to have more for FUN in the park. :)

I think you'll be happy with whichever you choose. :thumbsup2

Just got back from the Disneyland Hotel. AWESOME! Haven't stayed at the other two for comparisons, but it was a short walk to the park through Downtown Disney, themeing was great, Goofy's Kitchen was yummy for breakfast before we left, the rooms were spacious and cute, and the beds were comfy!

I will definitely stay here again and think it would be a great choice for you :)

I've only stayed at the Paradise Pier, so I also can not compare, but from what I've heard the rooms here are bigger than any of the others and I imagine you'll need that space with a teenager and an infant. The beds are super comfy and the walk is really pleasant.

The resort is good if you need to stay on the Disney property. However if you want to save money, you can stay at any of the many hotels nearby. Some are withing 5 minutes walking distance to the parks.
