Mid-week 2-night stay next June. (I'll book at AKL, home resort, then try to move it at 7 months.) I'll be solo, rejuvenating after a business conference in Orlando. No parks, just relaxation, pool time, good food and good drinks. I want to stay at a DVC resort I haven't before. So that limits me to Poly, Grand Floridian, Riviera, Beach Club, and Boulder Ridge.

What would you choose, and why?

While I haven't stayed at Grand Floridian, I would choose that. Lots of good restaurants and lounges and a spa, if you decide to partake. The large pool seemed a lot more relaxed than the both the main pool and the DVC area pool at the Polynesian.

Based on your trip goals, I'd go with the Poly. It has the most relaxing atmosphere of the resorts you listed, and access via monorail to additional options for food and drink at GF and CR. The evening outdoor seating at Wailulu or Trader Sam's is also very relaxing with the tiki torches and the MK lights across the lagoon. Runner up choice for chill atmosphere would be Boulder Ridge and Geyser Point.

GF is a front-runner. Good to hear about your pool recommendation.

Ooh, I hadn't thought about Geyser Point! Have only been there once or twice, and it was lovely! But that wasn't in late June. . .🥵

For June, I’d try for Boulder Ridge. We did Copper Creek in April & now trying Boulder Ridge. First time nearly matched our request of top 5th floor for a booked 1 Bedroom. (Just two of us so didn’t care about lack of murphy bed).

Two nights before a cruise. Landed yesterday and received room notification. First time ever upgraded. 5th floor dedicated 2 bedroom! It turned out to be an accessible but a great layout! Can try all three beds like Goldilocks. Using it all. (Two showers, the soaker tub, three huge TV’s).

Choosing Boulder Ridge for you for the atmosphere in summer. With the scenery and A/C, it will psychologically feel like a cooler retreat.

I do not find Poly or beach club to be relaxing. Grand flo while busy can be relaxing, but my money would be on Boulder Ridge or Riviera.

Both of those have great quick service options with geyser point and Primo Priato and relaxing quiet pools with brv having the free cabanas.

Hopefully the shampoo & conditioner are mounted at a useable level in the tub with no shower. At VB they had them mounted up high for people who could stand while taking a shower although there was not a shower as the roll in shower was in the other room

I'd vote for a Lake view room at VGF-in the "old" part, not the resort studios. I splurged and stayed there solo in the summer. The only time I left the room was to eat, and there were plenty of options. Watched the goings on on the water all day, and at night I could see the MK fireworks and Electric Water Pagent.
Beach Club Villas is another good option, a little more available for eating options, and the Boardwalk Villas has a great community hall available all day.

How fun, to get an upgrade!

We're staying at Boardwalk later this month, so that's less interesting to me. And now might not be the best time for BCV, with all the projected renos. But Stormalong Bay would be a treat!

Rivera all the way!!

It is very nice. I just stayed there in June solo, with 2 resort days.

The food is great, Le Petite Cafe!!

The quiet pool is so nice, cushioned loungers plenty of umbrellas.

A Skyliner ride to Boardwalk area.

I feel this is an adult solo or couples resort.

Do I tip the scale? I vote VGF 🤣

You can enjoy all the signature dining and lounges (Citricos, Narcoossee's, Enchanted Rose, and whatever the new lobby bar will be called). GF is also the only WDW resort with room service if you wanted to relax in your room and have something brought to you. GF also offers great spots to watch the fireworks and water pageant if you wanted to experience that without stepping foot inside the park. Summer should also be a quieter time for GF since nothing special will be going on like the Christmas or Easter display. The refurbishment of the lobby should also be completed this year so it will be nice and fresh.

You're also steps away from Poly so you can leisurely stroll over to Wailulu, Trader Sam's, Pineapple Lanai, Captain Cook's, etc if you're in the mood for some "island" fun!

Boulder Ridge hands down. It is so quiet and relaxing and feels like it is completely detached from the parks, even though it is just a quick boat ride away from MK. If I were traveling solo, I could all day by the pool with a good book. Almost tempting me to make a solo trip to BR!

If relaxing I vote Boulder Ridge, the DVC/Quiet Pool was awesome in April and uncrowded with almost no one there during the week.

I too am doing a 2 night solo trip. I decided to book the Grand Floridian. I choose the Grand because I have never stayed there, it's the flagship resort that to me screams Disney bougie, there are lots of dining options between GF and Poly, and there is so much to see and do in that area. I think a ride on the monorail loop just to see the sights will be fun.
After my 2 night stay in a studio, I move over to BLT 1br theme park view for 5 nights. My daughter joins me and we are doing the Princess Run Disney event. I could have booked another 2 nights at BLT but, I feel this split gives me the best of Disney, 2 nights princess and 5 nights classic Disney.
