I'm trying to decide on a PPO ADR for our full Epcot day the first week of March. The PPO ADR would be to limit our wait for one of either Soarin' or Test Track (we'd try for a FP+ for the other tier one). Park touring strategy (not food) is the primary goal for the PPO breakfast ADR. Thanks so much for the help! Tomorrow's my ADR day, so help me decide!

Garden Grill would be my choice. Most people report being done by 8:45 and down waiting for Soarin' well before rope droppers get there. To me, Akershus is just too far from TT to make that as viable.

Of course, this all depends on what time you can get your ADR.

I don't think Akershus will give you any advantage at all with test track so I vote garden grill. Now if you want frozen that's a different story.

I voted for Garden Grill/Soarin' because I think you have a better chance at beating the crowd in this situation than you do with Akershus and Test Track. If you get an early GG ADR (between 8:00-8:15 AM) and are one of the first to arrive at the restaurant around 8:10 AM you will see all of the characters by 8:30 AM. The food also came out really fast and we also received two servings of fruit and eggs quickly. We were finished eating and had paid the bill by 8:45 AM and just had to walk downstairs to Soarin'. We would have been the first people on... but it was down until 11:00 AM that day.

If you manage to see all of the princesses and eat at Akershus by 8:45 AM you still have to walk to TT, which will probably take about 7 mins or so. Depending on what time they release the main gate, you could be funneling in with the main gate crowd

We went with Garden Grill this past trip. In at 8:10am out at 8:40 and on the first ride of the day with on Concourse B filled. We left, used the restrooms, and when we headed to Living with the Land the masses poured in. So try for close to 8am, make your waiter aware of your Soarin goal and enjoy. Everybody enjoyed the food and the characters came by without too much time in between.

:thanks:

This is super helpful - I'll stick with my first instinct of GG/Soarin. I was playing with the Touring Plans optimizer and it kept showing Test Track as the suggested first ride and it didn't look too far from Akershus. So I wondered if Akershus/TT would have been a better strategy.

I'm hoping to do FEA with a FP+ on a partial day the evening we arrive. It's a challenge to try to make ADRs before knowing which FP+ you can get!

Test Trak is the suggested first ride because the line there builds faster and stays longer than Soarin' these days. The third theater at Soarin' makes that a much easier wait if you don't have FP+.

I was surprised that GG seemed to be a harder ADR to get than a BOG PPO (got an 8:05, no problem)! I could only get an 8:40 at GG, and that seems too late to get in line for Soarin' before the RD crowd.

So, entering from the IG at RD does it make more sense to head straight for Test Track or for Soarin'? I'm assuming I should prioritize Test Track for FP+ based on the fact that the Soarin' line is easier these days ...

No reservations are booking for me. So frustrating. I can see times but then I keep getting errors when I go to book for any restaurant. :(

Little secret... still show up at 8 even with a 8:40 ADR. Highly likely you'll be seated right away. :-)

I'd heard that worked for BOG but didn't think it would work that way for GG since it was table service. Thanks for the tip!

The Touring Plans reservation finder came through for me with an 8:05 at Garden Grill and I was able to nab it! Woohoo! This will make our park touring and FP+ selection a lot simpler.
