I think we will be doing our vacation this year in Williamsburg. When we went over Spring Break we bought summer passes for Busch Gardens and DS loved Colonial Wmsburg. We didn't stay long and didn't see much of Colonial Wmsburg and thought it would be good to make a relaxing, but fun vacation this summer.
I think I am becoming a bit of a "hotel snob" b/c the thought of 6 days or so in a cheap motel w/ my dear family is really turning me off. I think the main problem is that we would be there for 6 days. We are considering driving to Va Beach for a day or 2 before we come home and I have no qualms w/ getting a cheap place then.
Anyway, I can choose between Greensprings, Powhatan Plantation, Wyndham Kingsgate or Wyndham Patriots Place. I can get these though Redweek.com or TUG (Timeshare Users Group) all for the same price. The cost, of course, is a bit more than Motel 6 or the Econo Lodge (etc.), but it comes out about the same or even less than a higher level motel, especially w/ a suite. We will also save $$ by having a kitchen to eat breakfast and a few lunches in.
Has anyone stayed in any of these condos or heard anything about them? We know they are timeshares and can and will say no to any "maintainance meetings". The locations are fine, that really isn't a factor. They all have good reviews w/ some bad ones mixed in and the amenities are similar. They would all be 2 bedroom/2 bath units.
Any advice?? TIA!
