I'm surprising my Dsis and her DH with a dinner at Chef Mickey's after a day at MK. They don't know about it yet and I want to surprise them after they get in Orlando.

They are staying for a free week at a timeshare and get free one-day passes to MK. They can't afford much at all and don't have any plans for Thanksgiving. I tried to find a dinner for turkey day but all that they would like are full, so CM on Tues is it. That works well because that's the day they're planning on being in MK and they can take their time leaving the park, walk over to the Contemporary, and then catch the monorail back to the TTC to get their car.

Now, here's where I need help. I want to give them a big box filled with smaller boxes that each have a clue in them about their surprise....the last having their gift certificates and their PS# and time. Can ya'll help me with some clever clues????

Oh what fun!!!

Let me think a bit, and I'll get back with you.

I just went to the mall today and they have lots of Thanksgiving items out.

One store had little mini-candles that were shaped like turkeys, or maybe something else turkey-shaped. Or you could put a sticker of a turkey on the outside of the box that has the PS in it.

Then you'll have to include something with Mickey on it, maybe at the Disney Store they'll have something? What about a pin?

Sorry, that's about as much as I can think of at the moment!

I think they have a little bean bag mickey mouse that has "chef" attire. I could be wrong but it's worth checking out.

Following up on kdibattista's idea... I searched to see if I could find the chef Mickey beanie since I thought that was such a great idea. Here's a picture...

Still not sure how you'd get one though.

They do have a Chef Mickey's pin as well...

But again, no clue how you'd get one.

You could at least use a picture of Chef Mickey like...

Okay, the thoughts are coming together now....

The outside box should have a simple gift....like the Chef Mickey beanie.

The next should have maybe a letter or postcard with a cute picture of the actual Chef Mickey with "Can't wait to see you!!".

3rd--Then maybe the gift certificates in an envelope all decorated Disney-style.....

And finally the box with a nice official looking invite to dine at Chef Mickey's at such and such time....PS#.....yada, yada, yada

What do you think????? I'm going to look online for some of those beanies....wish me luck!

Thanks for the ideas...keep 'em coming!

Amy

Okay....so I just did a QUICK search for Chef Mickey beanies and so far all I found were collectors. I have nothing to trade and don't have time or money to get involved in that. My family will be down at WDW on Nov 17 & 18. We were planning on spending some time at DTD. Do you think we will be able to find one then?????

I'm being called upstairs by the almighty sick one----DH!!! I'll check in tomorrow!! Goodnight!

There is a kitchen store in Downtown Disney. I would expect they would be most likely to have something Chef Mickey. What about getting some inexpensive, plain white napkins, and doing a stamping project with Mickey shape? It would be something they could keep, and you could probably do them by just making your own shape in a sponge, and stamping with fabric paint. Heck, I may want to make some of those to match my kitchen!

hmmm....how about a puzzle or something that as they put each piece together leads them to their answer?

You can create something on heavy paper that tells them what they "win" with a picture of mickey on it. With each puzzle piece you could give them a clue where to find their next piece.

Have fun!

you might try calling the contemporary direct and they could put you in touch with the store in the hotel that sells the chef mickey beanies (assuming they still have them!) and you could order it over the phone...just a thought!!

i also have a picture that we got with our photo package at chef mickey's that has all of the characters on it...you're more than welcome to use it of you'd like!

good luck!

I know you said that you wanted to do boxes in boxes. How about you send them on a scavenger hunt instead and have them end up in the kitchen for their final clue. Inside the box in that room you can put a Mickey with a chef's hat and apron on. I'm sure you can buy one at a craft store or even make one yourself.
Just a little suggestion.
BTW...what a sweet thoughtful person you are!
