O.k. I am now un-officially planning my family's second adventure to WDW!! Went last May and were enchanted, of course. We're planning to go with my husband's family in 2005. My MIL and SIL went last Spring Break and said it wasn't so busy, BUT that was also the week we officially went to war and some folks backed out. My main objectives are to go when the girls are not in school and to go with the least possible crowds. We took them out for a week last time, and it was great, but can't do it again.
SO, do we go the week of about March 20th or wait until the very last of May - first of June? Thanks for any tips!!!:earsgirl::earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

I think either way will be busy..more so in May. I guess the question then becomes, do you want to go when it is hot or pleasant.

Between the two, I would choose March. Just know that there will be hundreds of cheerleaders there. DO NOT stay at All-Star Sports unless you want to hear a lot of practicing in the courtyards. You may want to get a copy of their schedule so you know where not to be. I went to nationals with my daughter 2 years ago. It is actually a really nice time to go.

We went in June last year and it was definately hotter than March. Although manageable. The week in June you indicated is Gay Week there as well, so you will probably want to get their schedule to avoid the crowds in the various parks.

O.k. Thanks so far...so you really think it's less crowded in March? I keep reading that it's peak season and the end of May isn't. My MIL and SIL said they didn't really wait much more than 10 minutes for anything last March, and that sounds ok to me, but I REALLY want to be there with the least amount of people possible. As for Gay week, I'm thinking we'll be coming home by the official weekend. Anyway, I'd love more input! Thanks!!

We have visited WDW several times in March and several times at the end of May and 1st week of June. My experience has been that the crowds were low during one visit that took place during the 1st week to 10 days of March. The parks were very crowded during a couple of visits in the middle of March. The parks were less crowded during the 1st week of June than during the middle of March.

For this year, if we had spring break starting on March 1, we would definitely plan on going to WDW; if spring break started on March 8, I'd consider going to WDW. Spring break for us starts on March 15 and I believe it will be too crowded for us. In your case for next year, I'd opt for late May/1st week of June over the 20th of March.

Not positive, but I think Easter falls at the end of March in 2005 as well.

We have been over spring break in March and we have also been the first week in June. Let me say, we will NEVER go over spring break again. I agree with a previous poster who said if you must go in March, do NOT stay at any of the All Stars. That is where most of the kid cheering, softball, etc. groups stay. And really it wasn't just the resort when we were there in March, they screamed on every ride - they were so loud in the Haunted Mansion room that you couldn't hear the Ghost Host ( first time for my DS and he missed the whole spiel) and they screamed on Kali River Rapids and were quite rude to us. They did their cheers on the buses and like the previous poster said they practice in the court yards at the resorts.

Was it enough to ruin my trip, no. But will I ever go again in March? NO.

The only problem with the first week in June was it is beginning to really get hot at that time, but that was ok. And it rained every day (but that happens in FL, you just go in the rain and deal with it!)

No matter what you choose, just plan carefully and you will have a wonderful time I am sure!

I vote for June also. Went last June 1-5, no problems with crowds, just some rain. Temps were not bad, were lucky to have some cloudy days. As for Gay Days, it's mainly the first Saturday in MK to definitely avoid, huge crowds.

We usually go the end of May beginning of June(and usually end up being there for Gay Day) and find it to be relatively uncrowded. Even on Gay Day, just don't go to MK. There are some lines and crowds at that time but they're going to be much, much worse over spring break. I can't imagine only waiting 10 minutes in March unless they were there on a non spring break week.

Good advice...thanks again! I am really going to push for first of June...hope my in-laws go for it! I can't find a calendar for 2005 with holidays, but it seems as though Easter should be creeping back towards March, and our Spring Break is the 21-25. Any more ideas? Thanks!

I found one. Easter will be Sunday, March 27, 2005. I've never been at Easter and don't know how that affects crowds the week before. I have heard it is CRAZY on Easter weekend, but the week before...hmmm. Anyone know?
