We are about 25 days away and have not made any requests regarding a loop. We paid for a premium site. Dad's not great at backing in so wide is important. Next to a comfort station is as well as there are eight of us. We have kids so near a playground wouldn't hurt but is the least of my worries. Soooo....

How do we request?
How do we get Internet?
Should we do early check in?

Thanks for any and all help! So excited these last weeks of school are dragging!

Early checkin is fine, I cannot remmeber if they give you the ability request a specific site over a loop. As for backing in, if your having trouble ask. Most people will help.

I am not aware of request. Some folks here mention it, but I have never tried. I don't believe that you will have any option other than backing in. The premium sites are long and somewhat wide, although not as wide as you may be use to at campgrounds.

Ask for help, I am sure many folks around with give you a hand.

I have had no issues with early check-in. In fact you should do it, so that they have everything put together when you pull in.

Enjoy!

We're picky, so I request a specific site in a specific loop. Actually, I list 3 sites that would be perfect for us and explain why and ask very, very nicely, and I always get one of those :) Somewhere around here is a fax number, and I fax my request 10 days in advance of arrival. Also, there's an app out there that has video of all the sites as you go around the loops and lists site dimensions....I can't recall the name of the app, but you can probably Google and find it.

We like the 900 loop, which is close to the Meadows Trading Post, so for internet, I just take my laptop over there and grab a rocking chair or a picnic table and do what I need to do. I've always had plenty of company there in the mornings :) I'm sure others know the procedure for getting it at your site...we never use it enough while we're there to make it worth the effort.

I've never done early check-in. When you do check in at the Fort, just let them know if you need help backing in...I'm sure they'd rather send someone over to help than have you take out a fence or something. That happened while we were there last....someone had a tough time backing up a Class A near the entrance to 900 and knocked out a few fence sections. Somehow a fence section actually got caught between their back tires and caused a bit of damage to the RV. There were a lot of staff involved and flashing lights and closing of the loop while they got it all straightened out. So don't be afraid to ask for help if you think you might need it!

Have a great trip! I would love to be 25 days out from my next one, but it's more like 575 days for us, lol!

We always put the request on my reservation by phone. 1100 is a good wide loop for Dad. Ask to be near a comfort station.

Go to the Meadow Trading Post and get a modem box.

We always just check in when we get there.

Have a wonderful trip.

We did request a loop..in fact we requested a specific site. We are staying in the same site that we stayed in on our very first trip down as a family 9 years ago. And its our 15th wedding anniversary. They told us since we booked early enough the site should be provided. If not, we will definitely be in the loop we want.(1300). Safe travels!
