Help! I thought I understood Early Entry. . . guess not!

Well the OP has not posted anything since this posting....I would love to know what she found out.

WDW tends to bury important information -- meaning folks become lost in the "sizzle" they are handed at check-in. In the mountain of printed material you are handed at the resort registration desk, there is only one place that ever talks about "Early Entry" or "Extra Magic Hours" (& the two titles also can add to the confusion). Info on which park is open to resort guests for EE is also usually posted somewhere in the lobby of each resort (somewhere among all the other confusion!). And WDW was checking resort keys for EE when we were there for all of Feb. Back early Dec and will check it all out once more. Only one of the "Plaza" hotels "on-WDW property" has EE and that is the Hilton. Swan, Dolphin & SOG also have EE.

I stayed at Pop last summer and we got early entry. Now EE is only at a certain park on certain days, but we had no problems. The only thing we had to show was our room key!!!!

I'm so sorry this has taken me so long -- we've been gone for a little while.

I just called my Dad about the material they received regarding early entry and he said he thought they still had the material that said early entry was only for Deluxe resorts. My Mom was gone today, but my Dad thought my Mom would know where everything is.

Anyway, as soon as I hear from my Mom, I'll let you all know.

Again, sorry for this delay. . . :(

They do check for resort ID - I was just there and you were not even allowed on the monorail at the TTC to the Magic Kingdom without your resort ID

I would at the very least send an e-mail to Disney Communications telling them how disappointed you were that they were given this wrong information and would like them to make sure everyone of their hotels have the proper information

They didn't check my resort ID or anyone else's going into the MK when I went. This was last month.

Thanks for the update, keep us informed. Pop Century and all value resorts get in early just like the other Disney resorts, I would be very interested in knowing what happened.

Has anyone considered the possibility that someone said to themselves "Let's play a prank on this nice older couple."? I hope no one would be that mean but unfortunatly it has to be considered as a possiblity.

If I am staying at BWV but am not a DVC member (I bought points and they made the ressie but put my name on it), will I be able to take advantage of EMH???

Thanks in advance for any insight!

You should not have any problems. I have never had a problem with EMH when staying at value, moderate, deluxe, or DVC accomodations. When all is said and done I bet we find out that we either had a misinformed CM, or a matter of miscommunication between the OP's parents and the CM. For that matter I have never been asked for my resort ID at EMH except for once at the AK. A good way to avoid the problem at the MK that was posted earlier is to take the Disney bus to the MK. That way you miss the T&TC entirely.

I know I don't get daily mousekeeping, but this OP made me wonder if there was anything else I'd miss out on!

I even got a DVC discount on a meal at Cape May when I rented points, without asking. The wait person saw our room key and added it on!

Early Entry is included in all the WDW resorts - plus d/s and dh - that is all that I know about.

doesn't matter if you are staying on points, cash, thru CRO or a dvc member - you get Early ENtry (suprise morning).

you are also entitled to E-nights if they have it during your stay.

OK, here's the info I just got from my Mom (she and my Dad were the ones that stayed at POP and were they could not use Early Entry). . .

My Mom spent last evening looking for the material that stated that they could not use EE as POP guests. She says she knows it was WRITTEN DOWN and she was not told that information. She couldn't find that material and fears that she threw it away with a bunch of papers last week when they got back from the trip.

Here's how she found out about EE: She said that once they got to their room, she started looking through the material to find the info on which parks had early entry and found info that said that EE was only valid to guests who stayed at one of the monorail-line resorts. She thought that sounded funny because I told her that she and my Dad could use EE as Disney guests. (They weren't used to EE and Disney resorts because this was their FIRST stay at a Disney resort). She just thought that maybe they changed the rules or something. (I wish she would have called me! I definitely would have called POP directly to find out what was going on. Again, this was supposed to be an Anniversary gift to my folks. . . they NEVER stay at a Disney resort -- they are totally Motel 6 people. . . not that there's anything wrong with Motel 6.:) )

Anyway, I wish I had the "smoking gun" for all of you. This probably just raises more questions than it answers.

If I find ANYTHING else out, I will let you know. In the meantime, I'm calling POP -- we're staying there next week and I want to make sure I understand this EE stuff.

That just doesn't sound right to me. I've heard of many who have just returned from Disney and NOT stayed at a monorail line resort who used EE. First off, why would they only allow guests of the Contemporary, Poly, and GF to use EE and not the other deluxe resorts. I sure wish your mother had the info she read, coz that just isn't right. If you find anything else out when you call the Pop, let us know. :D

Unless the missing papers can be found there is no way to know for sure what was there.

However I can assure anyone planning a future trip All Disney resorts, value, moderate and deluxe, the Swan and Dolphin and the Downtown Disney Hilton have Early Entry on the days posted. In fact I have tried to think of anything that is exclusive to the monorail resorts and I can not think of anything. The only thing I can even possibly think of is if there was some mention of transportation that the resort monorail is for the use of monorail resorts during Early Entry.

the only other thing exclusive to any one resort is the use of the pools.

I hope your Mom can find the info. Be assured on your trip you have access just as everyone else does.

From what the OP has said it does sound like the information they are referring to is in regards to transportation. Maybe it was referring to the fact that if you drive you will not be allowed to enter MK early. It is a shame the information is gone, I am sure the OP would feel better if it was only a misunderstanding in the way it was written.
