So we decided to go with Sage green!! I think it looks fantastic! Also, the tulle above the light isn't permanent. LOL DD had her 4th Birthday party yesterday (Tinkerbell!!) and we haven't taken it down yet :) hee hee

I'd either do a softer, paler yellow or a taupe.

Oh, or a light to medium grey/green/blue color.

Very pretty room! Restoration Hardware has a beautiful color called Silver Sage- I think it would look great in your kitchen.

Take a look at the Benjamin Moore color "paladian blue"

RED!! I am looking and assuming the "bricks" are painted on? I would cover that with the same wall color I decide on. Have fun! And Good luck! I want to paint too!

I am constantly ripping pages out of magazines, flyers, circulars, for ideas on colors and for when we finish the basement, remodel the kitchen. Just neat ideas. I find that sometimes looking at houses for sale in our area that are similar to ours, I find great ideas that I might never have thought of. So I have a file folder on my desktop of remodel ideas. This one looks similar to your colors in your kitchen and it just appealed to me (the colors and kitchen layout).

I can find the mls number and I think there is a walk-through video with better shot of the color.

THanks for the wonderful suggestions.

Java- No, the bricks are individual travertine tiles, it took 2 days for the tile guy to do our backsplash. So painting over them is definatly out :) LOL

Dawson5- I do love that color!! Its so hard sometimes to find the same color. I would love the mls number though so I could find more pics. Thanks!

I am also going to look up those other two colors, assuming I could purchase them in my area, that would be great!!

Thanks for the input!

I think you have the same colours in your kitchen. I have light tile on the floor and your counter tops look the same as well. We took the colour from the counter top. This room joins with the hall that is butter yellow...is your adjoining room light yellow. It looks it.

The wall colour is Peanut Butter by Behr. From Home Depot

Thanks Debbie. I SO wish we would have gone with the square granite. I don't know who I didn't even consider anything but bullnose, the square looks SO good... I'm green with jealousy :)

The rest of our house is Gobi Desert by Behr, its acutally a tan color and is painted throughout my whole house except for bathrooms and bedrooms. We are wanting to go with something not in the brown/tan family because of that. I love your kitchen though, so jealous of the granite. LOL

the mls is 230128
It's located in Granger Indiana

Here is a link via a local realty company:

There are more pictures through that. I think the original listing agent has the video, but it's a movie walk-through and not a guided walk-through. (You know the ones where there are oodles of pictures and you can move your cursor right, left, up and down to get an idea of the whole room). I think this is a newer listing so it might not be available yet or I just haven't run into it. I want to show hubby the master bath. I told him I wanted to paint our bathroom walls dark green and he kept telling me no. I think if he sees that, he might come around.

edit: they took the bathroom pic down. Just have a pic of the shower now. Good thing I saved the pics. I was afraid the house would sell before he had a chance to see it. grrr

Just below the pics on this site:

There is a "featured tour" link. That is her little movie. Music bugs me on it, might want to turn that down.:rolleyes1

I really like your tiled backsplash! I read the post about painting over it and was like "w t heck?" lol I'm probably going with a tiled backsplash in my house. Probably squares instead though. I would love white subway tile just because I love white subway tile but it doesn't look like they'll be any in this house...

So you'd go with the bullnose instead of what you have? I'm taking notes. ;) Your kitchen is beautiful to me! Looks like the eating area is a shade of green. My dining room is green. I felt very brave using color! LOL I'm a big chicken!

I have a sage green in my kitchen, and am just now finishing the remodel, with a similar color granite and backsplash. (Sage green must be popular around here - my best friend and my sister both have sage in their kitchen too)

Julie,
I bet the sage looks great in there! I am thinking of green in my eat-in area. I have it painted tan right now because I wasn't sure what to go with.

Are you going to post pics of your redo? I'd love to see it!

Thanks we just re did our kitchen last year. I hated picking out colours. I almost went for the granite with the ledge but the kitchen place told me not to because it just collects dust. Saw this one in there show room and liked it better anyway.

Yes if your whole house has been tan/brown you need a change. Even though I thought when I first looked at it I liked the yellow and wondered why you were painting....

I painted DS#2's bedroom Ben Moore, Spring thaw. It is a very, very light sage green.

OOPS! sorry Travertine DEFINATELY DON'T PAINT OVER THAT! that's beautiful hard to tell from photo!
