This will be our first trip to Universal.:cool1:

I have the room reserved and I purchased the Universal Theme Park Tickets - 7 day Unlim. 2 parks way back in September.

How will the hotel know to grant us FOL access? Do I show them my ticket vouchers so they can then add it to our room key?

Does it work like Disney?

Thanks for the help.

The hotel doesn't really have anything to do with your park entrance, other than your hotel key gives you FOTL access. You just have to show your key to the attendant at the Express entrance at each ride and he/she will let you enter and go to the front of the line. It is the best perk ever!

Here is a thread that some of us put together to help explain how the Hotel FOTL works,

(It is at the top of the page as a sticky)

Hope it helps!

We put our hotel keys in a lanyard so it's easy to show the ride attendant.(along with my AAA card for food/souv. discounts!) :thumbsup2
I also don't have to worry about the kids losing theirs, just tuck inside our shirts for the bigger rides!

What discounts does your AAA card get you? All you have to do is show your AAA card??

It gives you a 10% discount at souvenir shops and restaurants at both parks, CW and resort hotels. There are a couple soda kiosks that don't take it. Can't remember which ones so I always ask. I discovered it when using a AAA traveler's check to buy my son a tshirt, the cashier explained and gave me the discount. From then on, I always bring my card.:woohoo:

btw, our cheapo AAA office gave out new year stickers a few times instead of new cards each year with instructions to put say a "2008" sticker over the 2007 that's printed on the card. I did get a hard time at one soda stand in IOA, saying that it wasn't a valid card. They acted like I just made up my own sticker to cover the dates. It only happened once but it just irked me, like I was trying to get over on them or something dishonest. When I got home, I reported my card lost and they sent me a new one with 2008 printed on it. :headache:

if that would ever happen again to you, that you are questioned about the validity of your aaa card, get the name of the tm, time and place where it happened.

before you leave the park, drop by the gs and give them a heads up on what happened to you.

sometimes you get a new tm in the park and all they need is a bit more training about the aaa cards.

Wow...thanks for the info!!! :cool1:

My AAA card doesn't even have a current date, it just says "Member since yyyy" on it :confused3 I don't get any kind of current year sticker when I renew....I guess each branch is different.

When I told her that's just how they do it to save costs on yearly cards, she took it in the back to her manager and returned it saying no. I was only buying a mug refill so I didn't feel like arguing over $.07 but I had been using it everywhere just fine. If it ever happens again, I will use your advice. Thanks! :goodvibes
