I've had them ripen with the skin still green...pop one open and check inside.

I have banana trees in my yard. If bananas are picked way too early, they'll never ripen. But, if they are picked at the proper time and still green, do as people here have suggested...place in a brown paper bag to speed up ripening. Placing any other fruit in the same basket with bananas will also speed up the process. Do not place in fridge until ripe. Love to have you come pick some from my trees!

Hi T&B...I have noticed that when their is a little fun you seem to be around? I was thinking about the germophobe thread. (sorry...just had to slip the banana in at this point). I wanted to clarify that once I checked a banana that would not turn yellow and it viola...it was ripe and ready. I better stop there.

A few days ago I was thinking that we haven't had a good germaphobe thread recently. I almost started one. Yep, if there's fun to be had, I like to be in the middle of it.
