Help for the shelters

Skip the radios, they don't need a cacophony of blaring radios all on different stations. Kids could not study under those conditions. They probably won't need battery torches either, the power is not expected to fail.

The schools should drop the uniform requirment for the year. Refugees should not have to worry about buying uniforms and keeping them clean.

I tripple the air mattresses idea-

My best friend Andrew is chief of Tulane EMS and hes been sleeping on the floor in a dorm somewhere in Baton Rouge I think (there is a post in here about his efforts) His dad sent down 10 air mattresses with another friend who is going to help join Andrew in his efforts to triage and help the wounded in a refugee center. Andrew has only been sleeping 2 hours or so at a time but I bet a bed for him would be nice :flower:

The YMCA camp facility in Fort Worth is getting ready to house some evacuees. I talked to them today and they had a great need for baby items- clothing, food, diapers, diaper rash cream, formula, etc. I just went to Target and bought a lot of that stuff and took it to Camp Carter. Once I saw what they had, I realized they need a lot more kid stuff.

My sons' school is also doing a drive and we are collecting underwear, socks, personal items, small games, cards, and school supplies for the children coming here.
