We have 4 girls with thier hearts set on being in the talent show. How do I register them for this? I know there is a limited number of spots. Is there a day and time to do this, or should I go as soon as we get on the ship to sign up? Where so we sign up?

They are going to dance to a song from the Walt Disney movie "Newsies" about paperboys during the depression. It is a tap dance, does anyone know is using tap shoes on stage would be a problem?

Thanks!

My DD did this on our 5/22 cruise. It was really cute. In your navigator it will give you a date to sign up. You just go up to the desk and put your name down. They have a rehersal the night before the show.

There's an area below the stage in the Rockin D that s/b ok for tap shoes.

I would advise the day of the show, get there early. The room was quite full.

Thanks! I looked through the navigators on Barb's website and didn't see where it said to 'sign up', but I will look again. Do you happen to remember what day you did go to sign up?

I would hate for the girls to miss out on this, but I can see how it would be easy to overlook it listed in the navigator.

Edit: OK, I see it now, it is on Monday (on the Eastern) at the Excursion Desk starting at 8:00. Thanks! I will be there first thing to get them registered!

Do they offer it on the 4 night or just the 7 night? We're doing a 4 night in September and a 7 night the following November. My daughter is the greatest singer in the whole wide world (typical mother, huh? ;) ) and I love to watch her on stage now that she isn't scared to death to sing in public anymore. And it's still fun to watch my other daughter.... that's slightly tone deaf.... enjoying the microphone at the top of her lungs. Maybe she can learn to do shadow puppets with her fingers instead! :teeth:

On our past Magic cruises I always saw a book open at the Shore Excursion desk to sign up for talent show. I am not sure what day they start it, but I know it is there for a few days so people can sign up. I have never seen more than a handful of entries in it in all our cruises. I think there is plenty of room for acts.....Rockin Bar D was full with spectators.

I think it is only on the 7 day (but I could be wrong). I don't remember seeing it listed on the 3 or 4 day cruises we were on in the past.

It just so happened that my kids' dance company did a tap from the Disney Movie "Newsies" this year, so we thought it would be fun for them to do at the talent show.

Thanks for the advice about getting a seat early too! I really want to be able to see them!
