Not sure if I will have more luck on the Sea World thread or not, but I thought I would start here.

We have one day that we want to go to Busch Gardens, August 6. I am trying to see if I can get discounted tickets for our family of 4 (one child is under 8)

Does BG do like Coke or Pepsi promotions during the summer in the Tampa area--like if you bring in a coke can you get $10 off a one day ticket? I think it is Coke that does that over here for Six Flags.

Anywhere else a local person would recommend an out of stater to get a discount here?

Also I saw a Travel Chanel special on BG and people seemed to be able to take a safari ride and hand feed giraffes and other animals---I assume that is extra. How much and how do you sign up for that?

Thanks All!

When we were at Busch for one day last week, we used our AAA card to get a discount and of course now I can't recall how much it was...if I had to guess I'd say 10%. I didn't know about the discount until we walked up to buy tickets and they asked me if I had a AAA card.

The safari ride where you get to feed the giraffes is something like $75 extra (yes, on top of the park admission price) per person according to a book I have. There is also a shorter safari ride for about half that price. This is based on Frommers travel book from last year, you could check their website for sure.

We've been to Busch Gardens Tampa several times and used different options for a discount pass each time. You'll find small discount coupons in the literature you find in area hotel lobby's. The best one we found was through the Busch Adventure Club. It's one of those deals that your employer or credit union needs to be a member. Try your employers personel department and your banking institutions. you could also have friends check at their work and then order the passes for you.

We've never done the Safari.

If you are thinking of combining Busch Gardens with Sea World, you may try www.ticketmania.com -- I just bought passes for us there - its 2 days of Seaworld and 1 day of Busch Gardens for $85.00 (adults) and $76.00 (children).

We did the safari at Busch Gardens last year. I can't remember the price and it was the shorter safari. It probably lasted about an hour. They take you out in groups of 20 people or less in a big open truck for a guided tour. They provide food to feed the different animals. They also provide waters and someone is taking pictures that you can purchase later. I believe that you did get a family photo included in the package. Feeding the giraffes alone was worth the price. They ate right from your hands. It was very cool, somthing that you would probably never do again. I recommend it!

Okay here is a long shot that paid off for us. Do you know anyone who works at Anhauser Busch??? If you do and they are kind... they can get you free tickets. I know I am probably stating the obvious but it was somthing we had not even considered and then a relative who worked for them got us passes.
Gotta say, it was an okay park but I do not know how happy I would have been putting out 200.00 when all Rhino Rally (the reason we went )did was break down all day! Also they have the new RL Stien "Haunted Lighthouse" 3D and that was not worth it either. Then again if you have never been to Disney OR Universal, go to Busch first and you will think it is great.

Your best price for a ticket at Anheuser-Busch parks is the Southwest Airlines 20% off discount. All you have to do is show your frequent flier card at the gate and you get you up to 4 tickets at the discount price.
