Help - Booking hotel room for our stay in late August

I am hoping for guidance with booking our stay (room only) for this summer. We are going to DL on Tuesday to Sunday, August 28 - Sept. 2. This includes the Marathon weekend.

We are also new AP holders, and have not booked a room with an AP rate. At present, the AP hotel rate calendar only goes up to June. However, GET Travel is advertising rooms at the DH of 269.10 including tax to registered runners.

So...if I call DL Travel reservations, will they have any idea of the AP rate at the DH for our dates? If I book whatever they offer at the time, will they allow me to later change the reservation to whatever AP rate or special promo rate does become available?

Does the GET Travel rate of $269 per night incl. tax seem better than what we are likely to see as a promotional rate either to the public or through AP for our dates? We would forfeit $25 fee to GET if we switched to a DL booking.

If you book through Disney, they will allow you to change to a lower rate or promo - *if* there are rooms available. If there are no rooms in your room category available, you'd have to give up the room you are holding, and hope you get it back before someone else books it.

That's all assuming you are booking a hotel-only reservation. The packages have different cancellation policies so I'm not sure what would happen if you book a package.

Not sure if better rates or not just wanted to say that we are going to be there same time and used Get Travel. Bill is a great guy to work with. We are staying at DLH 28th through the 4th.

We used Get Travel last year for the Half-marathon weekend as well and couldn't ask for better service.
