Help! I need some advice. I have a Fall Fantasy package booked at ASMu. I just got an email from my travel consultant at Dreams Unlimited telling me that there is a new discount rate at Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside. I will be there for 7 nights and for $130 more I can upgrade to one of these resorts. So here are my questions: 1 - is it worth the $130.00 and 2 - If it is which should I stay at. I am not familiar with any of these. And 3 - One of the reasons I like to stay at ASmu is because the bus transportation is so great - is it as good at the upgrade resorts?

Thanks for your help.

...$130 TOTAL for your whole stay??? If so, I would definitely stay at a mod. Been to DxL (I know, it's now POR, but old habits die hard!) and it was lovely. I really enjoyed the food court. My 3 DS's loved the fishin' hole, too! (catch and release program). We also stayed at CSR and LOVED the theming and the pool. The Pepper Market was AWESOME and the variety of entrees even satisfied my finicky 13-y-o!! We will be heading to CBR and WL this summer, but from what I have heard on these boards, CBR is really great too (after all, it was completly renovated!!). Good luck with whatever you choose....:)

Whether it's worth the money or not is a matter of personal taste. For me it would be. How many people are you traveling with? The rooms at the moderates are a bit bigger, and that may be a great benefit if you have 4 people in your party.

For good transportation, I'd recommend sticking to PO. My preference is FQ, but RS is nice and shares the transportation system. CBR has 7 bus stops, and I find it very frustrating when you're trying to get somewhere. PO has 5, but for some reason it doesn't seem nearly as bad. Maybe the whole round trip is significantly shorter.

I've stayed at POR, POFQ, and ASMu. I'd definitely upgrade to either of those moderates. POFQ might be easier to get to the bus stop if the bus is an issue. But I love both of them-far better than ASMu.

Thanks for the quick replys! I am beginning to feel that spend the $130.00 is worth (comes out to $18 a night) - mostly becuase this will be a very special trip (I am proposing to my gf) and upgradig to a mod resort might make it more romatic.

So here is another question: If I upgrade to one of these do you have any building suggestions? If so what are they and why?

Thanks again for all the help.

you will definitely like the location of bldg #14 in the Alligator Bayou (POR). It is close to everything, and these buildings are more "rustic" (very cozy). The mansions are nice too; I can't recommend a bldg because I've never stayed in this section, but it seems to have a "southern-genteel" quality to it...;)

Hi Cliff,
I don't think you could do wrong by upgrading. I honestly never pay attention to which bldg # I stay in so I can't offer an opinion on that but of the 3 considering that you're proposing, I'd choose POFQ. I think of it as much more "romantic" than the others.

Congradulations by the way,
Cheryl

YES,YES,YES!!!!!

If it's $130.00 for the entire vacation, GO for a Moderate Resort..

you won't re-gret it!!!!

Have a Great Vacation...

I vote for the CBR. The rooms are larger and the beach with the hammocks is a nice touch. You can ask for a king room and that will make it even nicer. Seaspray has a great site with lots of pics of the CBR. Check it out.

I agree!

POFQ, We love this Resort! First bus pick-up, Very laid back and Romantic..We love Building 2..3rd.floor..We are close to the DTD boat. But your a close walk to everything..We had a king corner room, # 2323.. The only thing is it's called an optional smoking building..DH never smoked in the room, he won't at home either, Only where prohibited. But I never smelled smoke in the room we had..

hope this helped.

Oh also, the rooms were very clean and the CM's and staff were Wonderful, so Wonderful, that DH and I are booked again for this September for 7 days..

I have to agree with everyone else on taking the upgrade. We usually stay at CBR, but tried the ASMovies one year and couldn't wait to get back to CBR. I think either of the upgrade options would be good.

Since this is through a travel agent, I'd make sure you're getting everything the package includes, since some things that sound too good to be true sometimes are.

I suggest CBR! It can be extremely romantic, especially at night! :) The grounds are beautiful and the tropical theme is carried throughout the resort. Take a look at my web sites, I have some pictures and info about the resort!

I definitely think $130 more is worth it for the upgrade to moderate, ESPECIALLY for this special occasion! :)
