to their Disney resort card key? I had never heard of this before but I say a post about this the other day. Anyone ever do this or know of this?

THANKS, in advance! :bounce:

It's been possible for the resorts to do since the MYW software was installed in January. Just be aware that you will still run into the occasional resort CM who will tell you that it can't be done. In that case, ask to speak to their supervisor.

I asked a CM about this at DVC's MS and they told me that it is possible to have it done. I sure hope so. It'll make things much simpler.

Has anyone that's done this had problems or have advice for us?

I had it done in May. The CM said no problem, but he did something wrong and had to call a manager over to fix the problem. It only took an extra 5 minutes to fix.

Is it possible to do this if you will have days left over on your tickets that are non-expiring? TIA

I really hope so...it would make life so much easier.

I also wondered what the advantage is to having them put on your room key. I usually hold onto my families tickets. I would be afraid that my teenage son would lose his room key thus losing his tickets as well. He likes to carry his own room key. On non park days I put the tickets in the safe and just take the room keys to the pool, etc. I feel safer that way with a lot less to lose if someone misplaces their room key.

with your tickets on it, you just contact the front desk and get they get you a new card (with your tickets) and deactivate your old key.

Does everyone use ticketmania? I need Disneyquest tickets and want to get them thru them. Do they deliver tickets ok? I have never used them before. Any advise?

When you order through Ticketmania they send a Xerox copy of the back of the tickets. Keep this paper, if you loose your tickets (or room key if you have had them transferred over) this is the only proof you have that you purchased tickets.

I like to transfer my tickets over because with a family of 5, I have to carry 10 cards if I don't. 5 room keys - needed to enter EMH and 5 tickets. By combinding them, I have less to carry. I have a I.D. holder I got at Walmart (.97) that I hang around my neck. When we all go through the turnstile, I collect them from everyone and put them in the holder. There is even a little pocket on the back that I use to hold Fastpasses.

I also had charging privelages put on the card. This also eliminated the need to carry cash to the park. Just charge everything to the room.

My 12 year old son also liked to charge on his own card. He was just very careful with it and always gave it right back to me. I always kept the holder around my neck.

We tried to do this on our trip and they couldn't do it either at CSR or at Guest Services at Epcot.

See we bought one day passes and had the dining plan on our key. We also had in hand 10 myw passes from ticketmania.

They told me at the resort and Epcot since the key was dated all things would expire after that date. At CSR they stated that they could transfer the ticketmania stuff onto the plastic card, but in the transfer the things that are aleready on the card (my dining and one day pass) would get removed. The CSR rep didn't want to delete anything on the card so we didn't do it. They did say we could transfer the one day to the ticketmania tickets, but since the ticketmania tickets were hoppers and the one day ticket wwe bought was NOT, they could not transfer.
They have to be exactly alike tickets.

Okay this may seem silly question, but why do you get them transferred?
The short answer is your room key becomes your park ticket too. That way you don't have to carry both a room key and a ticket around. It's just one less thing to carry and keep track of. For some this is a plus (me included) and for other's it's a minus.

It sounds like they won't transfer tickets over if you get the no-expiration option? Is this true?

Has anyone with the dining option had tickets transferred to their room keys without a problem?

We actually transferred our Ticketmania (A+ company) tickets transfered 2 times. We had 10 day expiry park hoppers. We transfered them to our Pop room key. The check in girl didn't know how to do it, but she got help and it was done quickly. We switched resorts on day 3, and had the park tickets transfered from our Pop room key to our SSR room key. No problems.

Personally, I'd be afraid to do this, based on our experiences. We once had a problem with our tickets (5 day PH that didn't work the 2nd day), and it took us almost an hour to get them fixed ( a 2nd CM who was REALLY slow). We totally lost out on the EMH hour. Changes invoke the risk of error, IMHO, and the cost is too high. If I'm paying all that money to be at WDW, I want my EMH! ( :teeth: Unless of course, if I choose to sleep through it.)

We put our park tickets in a central location, and then let everyone carry their room keys. Under a worst case scenario, if part of the group goes back to the room, they have a key, and if we forget to give them their park ticket, then someone meets them at the park gate. We keep a photocopy of the tickets at our room. For us, this is the easiest, least complicated system. I don't think we'd want it the other way.

Does anyone get their Ticketmania tickets transferred to their plastic room keys because they are worried about the durability of the paper ticket (10 day passes will go through a lot!).

We just had this done during our stay at BWV. Ever since we started staying on property we have had our room key, tickets and charging privileges on one card, whether it was a Disney package or as in this last trip tickets from Ticketmania transferred onto the room keys. We have never, in at least 10 trips had a problem. The convenience of everyone just having to have that one key on them is great. Yes, we have had instances where someone lost their key, we just went to guest services where they deactivated the old key and reissued a new one with park tickets and all.
