Help! Am I going to get sick? (Bad salsa)

I just poured a spoonful of On the Border salsa onto my nachos for lunch. After I ate it I looked at the lid and there was fuzzy fur-stuff growing on it. Repulsive!!! I am freaking out thinking I am going to get food-borne illness. :sick:
 
The citric acid in salsa is a force to be reconned with. I think you'll be fine!!
 
Mold seems to like the inside of salsa lids. We do not use our salsa frequently and it will often have some mold.

Our rule: if the mold speaks to you, toss the jar.
