help - am I crazy? (waitlist)

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now and would like some opinions.

I want a 2-bdrm, std view, at boardwalk from 12/6 to 12/18.
Called MS just now!!!! (My DM couldn't decide to go or not - learned my lesson!!!)
No availability, anywhere, for 12/6

waitlisted 12/6 & 12/7 for BWV.
12/8 to 12/18 ressies for SSR
12/8 to 12/17 waitlist for BWV
12/17 & 12/18 waitlist for BWV
I was told that if either waitlist comes through, those days will be taken from BWV. (the SSR ressie is split like the waitlist, but I only received 1 conf. number)

We are borrowing points from next use year, so I didn't want to carry any double bookings.

I realize that it is possible that we will have to move from BWV to SSR during the stay. It's also possible that the 6th and 7th won't come through. I figure that I won't make a decision about plane tickets for a couple of months to give the wait lists some time to sort out.

I've NEVER split a ressie or anything like this before. I've VERY nervous about this whole thing. I don't know if I did the right thing in splitting the way I did or not.

I know this is asked all the time, but...
Do you think we'll get BWVs? Did I split/waitlist the best way I could? Any other pointers?

no available anywhere on the 6th - but what about the 7th. doesn't look like you have anything for it either.

You have SSR that is something!!! so you will have a DVC resort - just not the one you want.

the wait list might come through for you. but I don't think I would expect all of your days. so if you don't mind going from SSR to BWV back to SSR - you will be fine.

if you do mind changing resorts just cancel the BWV.

no you aren't crazy - once stayed at 3 DVC resorts on one visit - to be able to go!!!

Just wanted to say good luck to you on your waitlist! I just got on one today - I've never done automatic before, so this will be interesting!

If I add the 7th to SSR, it will be 410 points. BWV for 6th to 18th would be 403 points. We only have 300 points left for this year and so I didn't want to borrow 110 and then only use 103. Sounds silly now that I'm typing it.

Right now I'm thinking that we'll arrive EITHER on the 6th OR the 8th. However, now I'm REALLY re-thinking that. We have APs, so adding the 7th doesn't really "cost" much at all. Just the potential of losing 7 points.

If I know the system I believe you would be able to bank the 7 points from this years allotment of 300. YOu would use your borrowed points first, the 110 and then whatever you need of the 300 and bank what you don't use for use next year.

Yeah - that's what i thought, too. I asked while I was on with MS, they said no. Maybe I just didn't word it properly? I'd really like to know for sure that what you said is correct. Anyone?

Do you have all of the days on one reservation or two? Could you break it up into two reservations linked where the 8th thru whatever and then the 6 and 7. Using this years points book the 6th and 7th, so if the 7th is cheaper when you do the final reservation you can bank those points. and then book the 8th thru the end using your remaining this years and the borrowed next year. They definitely can't argue with that as long as you cancel within the 31 day window and it is within your banking timeframe.
